Clonmel (Irish: Cluain Meala, meaning "honey meadow") is the county town and largest settlement of County Tipperary, Ireland. The town is noted in Irish history for its resistance to the Cromwellian army which sacked the towns of Drogheda and Wexford. With the exception of the townland of Suir Island, most of the borough is situated in the civil parish of "St Mary's" which is part of the ancient barony of Iffa and Offa East.

Have been using the Emperor restaurant for twenty odd years now, and their standards never drop.Often have a takeaway and find a surprise which the staff add without charge.such as prawn crackers or extra sauce.Especially like their duckling or Chop Suey. They have been in Clonmel for many a year, so they must be doing something right.

We love catalpa and come here every few months for special occasions. We usually get a three course meal with a bottle of wine and on average it works out at about 85 euro. The food is always beautiful and lovely service from staff. Portions are a nice size and wine in a cooler. Lovely ambience, nice, romantic and cosy. One of our favourite spots in Clonmel

A business dinner for 6 was a joy. The choice of food on the menu was varied and well presented. I had the duck terrine followed by Hake, both of which were very tasty. The service was efficient but unobtrusive. If I was being ultra critical I would say the wine list could have provided better choices but that is a minor thing and should not detract from the overall good experience.

Having had breakfast here on a couple of occasions, I had resolved to try lunch when I had the chance. So, three people, one warm chicken salad, one omelet, one steak Sandwich. Cokes, water. (no wine licence sadly) Three absolutely delicious desserts, freshly made, vibrant, super presentation. Various sorts of coffees; each plate declared fantastic, by all at the table. Great value at €47 or so. Very attentive service by a number of enthusiastic staff. Great place, well run. We'll be back!

Hickeys Bakery and Café is a fourth generation Bakery renowned for Barm Bracks, fresh crusty breads and sweet cakes. Our Café serves Breakfast, morning coffees, 11s`s,Tasty Lunch Specials, Saturday Brunch and Bubbles and lots more!
As we had already eaten breakfast, it was unfortunate that we were not hungry enough to try some of the lunch menu at Hickey's. All the food leaving the kitchen looked delicious.
We ate tea and scones, which were lovely and the staff were very friendly and efficient, even though the cafe was packed.
We bought one of their famous bracks to take away and it did not disappoint!

The Buttermarket Coffee House is a nice handy place for a coffee and snack. Food is good, service is prompt and friendly. An additional word about the food; you get what you pay for here and there’s lots of menu items to choose from which will not break the bank. It’s frequented by locals and that’s a good sign; as a result it can be quite busy at lunchtime. As it is located in the centre of town the only parking which is available is paid parking. I have had lunch here a few times and a few coffees on other occasions. At all times I was happy with the experience.
