We were enticed to try the Hostellerie Dispa restaurant because of the great reviews and the fact that we were staying at the on-location B&B. I have a gluten allergy (celiac disease to be accurate) as well as sensitivies to eggs and casein (milk protein). No one at the restaurant spoke English or Dutch, and my husband speaks only a bit of French. We showed the waitress and owner a description of my allergy in French and explained that it was serious. They took the description to the chef and came back to say it was all ok. I thought nothing more of it since up-scale chefs are usually very knowledgeable.
Unfortunately I got two of my four courses with gluten. Luckily I confirmed each time a new course was brought out and did not eat anything I shouldn't. The food was GREAT, but being unsure of whether I'd spend the next three days severely ill put a damper on things.
I would highly recommend that the chef(s) brush up on common food allergies and make sure they have a fall-back menu. Most of us with celiac don't care if we have 10 options, we just want the assurance of one good one that won't make us sick :)

I throughly enjoyed my meal, which was homemade pepper soup and hot roll
My main meal was fillet steak with peppercorn sauce.
2 other people in the party had to send food back for being cold, I think it was because of cold dishes!
The wine was excellent, we enjoyed a Rioja and chardonnay.
The decor was very tired but they informed me they were refurbishing the next day for 3 weeks.
I have booked for a party of 25 for when they re-open as I feel I would give this restaurant another go.
They offer 2 courses for £14.95 mid week so I think this could be worth a try.

A great place to stop. Beer is brewed on the premises and you can actually see the machinery from the dining room. We shared a sample selection of beer and took 3 of them home with us from the shop. We didn't have the food this time but it smelled really good!

After shopping at their affiliated store, stopped here for lunch. Very good beer and food, great service - we wish we could have stayed much longer, but had to drive on. Both the store and this brasserie are well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Definitely a nice place for diner ! One of the best Libanaise restaurant in Belgium ! Nice service, you directly feel welcome thanks to a great staff. I recommend the mezze, love it a lot !

During a day trip to Chimay we were told to have lunch at this restaurant. The short trip outside the city was a full success. Their steaks ''Sauce Roquefort" & "Au Champions" were just great.
You should have a local CHIMAY Beer (3 different types) with that. NO need to have wine!
Price list for all is very reasonable! Excellent value for money. Just try it out yourself and comment .... .

Nice local restaurant that serves a small selection of fresh food. It is steak varieties with various sauces. Steak and sauces are excellent. Service was quite slow, but friendly, also towards young kids. We would go again, given the limited other choices nearby.

We took the so called house speciality. Meat mix on a cole bbq in the middle of the table. The salad was good if somewhat basic. The meat however lacked any taste. There was no seasoning available and it all was a bit dull. The pizzas we saw looked way more interesting and smelled lovely so next time we will go for that instead.

We don't speak French that good but Google Translate helps a lot. The fact that we don't speak French that good made us feel less welcome than the native customers. However the food was served quick and tasted good.
