We are a small Turkish restaurant in the middle of Carterton. We have a range of options for Children, Adults, Vegetarians, Vegans, Coeliac and many others. We are a big range of non-alchoholic drinks, wines, beers, rtds and hot drinks. Our staff are very friendly and helpful. We have an award winning chocolate cake that just melts in your mouth.
Popped in on a Friday night for takeaways..... certainly won't be rushing back.... food was cold... sauces tasteless.... the "Turkish bread ".... wasn't like any Turkish bread I have ever had & the Sigara boregi.... undercooked and the yoghurt dressing was all lumpy.... all in all very unpleasant

Had a very tasty GF pizza and reasonably price wine. Service seemed a little disengaged. One lass delivered to our table twice with out uttering a word. Food was great but staff lacking vibe

Lots of options in Greymouth, so a shame we chose The Swan. Lovely building and location, but indifferent and lax service let it down. Few were there, but drinks still took 15 mins whilst no less than 5 staff milled around the bar doing cutlery, checking phones, talking. At time to pay, despite saying where we’d sat and what we’d drunk, told “it doesn’t work like that, I’m not looking through all of the orders to find yours.” Some people are not suited to hospitality.

Country bar and restaurant catering to local farmers and those from further afield. Good honest food, prepared with fresh local ingredients. At the heart of the Wairarapa wine trail, we showcase local wines, in particular those from the Gladstone area. Craft beers available. Open fire provides a welcome in winter, and outdoor dining is available in the warmer months in our riverside garden bar. Also known as The Gladdy
We booked an outside table on a picture perfect Saturday. The menu varied as were the choice of drinks. Well worth the drive too! Lovely pub. Will go again.

We were fortunate enough to attend the 'clearing the fridge' night at Mirabelle's before their Christmas break. Fantastic night! We were treated to many of the cafe's classics as platters to share - pate, terrine, smoked salmon, pear, walnut and blue cheese salad, braised duck, a variety of desserts AND a cheese platter...4 hours of gluttonous delight! We were a table of four - the restaurant was packed and a good time was had by all. Tres bien! Oh - and you can BYO which is a major benefit!

Quick visit to Cahoots, which was chosen purely because of its proximity to our car parking space as we drove to Wellington.
Sampled their mince and cheese pie, cheese scone, a sweet slice and two coffees, all to go.
The pie had great pastry. Unfortunately the contents were bland and insipid, and the cheese noticeable by its absence.
The cheese scone was a scone, but again, no cheese flavour. One wonders if ingredients were skimped, or whether the owners buy a special cheese with no flavour.
Both these items were consumed while we waited for the coffees to be made. And waited. It was lunchtime, but there was a staff of at least four, and the barista was just plain slow. Ours was the only coffee order, and it went ignored for a long time.
The coffee came in a Supreme cup. We like Supreme - usually good roasters who produce a bean with taste. Cahoots manage to extract all the flavour while making the coffee. We suspect that the large drinks are made with a single shot, rather than the customary double.
The sweet slice was sweet. Hint of coffee flavour in the icing, which was more than was in the coffee itself.
Disappointing. Won't be back.

This was our second visit to Cuckoo as we are newly settled in Greytown, and we love this very welcoming restaurant with great value and delicious food. The menu is quite small but what they do is very good and we would definitely recommend it. The wine list is also good and the service is excellent. We will keep going back for more. Thanks Cuckoo and Staff

Stopped her for quick lunch- their French baguettes with REAL HAM OFF THE BONE..not shaved ham were a step back to Paris!
While it was later in the day the range of food in the cabinets as well as the menu superb.
Since returning to NZ my husband has tried lots of so called palmiers but these were the real thing..had to buy more to take away!

Four adults two children for dinner. When we arrived we were told we had a 20 minute wait as they had a crowd out the back giving their orders so we were advised to have a drink until they could take our orders for a meal. There was no one else in the front of the restaurant, just us. They came back half an hour later and said there was still a slight delay. We waited. One hour after coming in for a meal they took our orders. We had had a look out the back to see the crowd and there were 10 people. Not a crowd. 3/4 of an hour later we had meals in front of us. I had an ocean plate dish with quid rings, mussels etc on it. Didn't really taste very nice so I ended up leaving 2/3rds of it. I shouldn't have had even a third of it. I spent from 11.0pm to 5.0pm throwing up with food poisoning.
We all agreed it was a dismal horrible experience for a dinner out. Too many good places to have a meal to put up with sub standard service and food that is off.

This will definitely be a place we will come to every time we're in the Wairarapa. The food was really great. We came for morning tea and got a black forest gateaux, a sconut, doughnut, coffee, tea and fluffies. Average coffee, good fluffies, food was great. My daughter didn't enjoy the mock cream in the gateaux, I thought it was fine. The service was average, nothing notable, but polite. I would possibly have given 5 stars had the tables been clean. I had to ask to have it wiped down. It was pretty busy though, so occasionally someone doesn't get there quick enough.
