Boscastle (Cornish: Kastel Boterel) is a village and fishing port on the north coast of Cornwall, England, UK, in the civil parish of Forrabury and Minster (where the 2011 Census population was included) . It is 14 miles (23 km) south of Bude and 5 miles (8 km) northeast of Tintagel. The harbour is a natural inlet protected by two stone harbour walls built in 1584 by Sir Richard Grenville and is the only significant harbour for 20 miles (32 km) along the coast. The village extends up the valleys of the River Valency and River Jordan. Heavy rainfall on 16 August 2004 caused extensive damage to the village.

The Riverside's restaurant offers a choice of services when it comes to its restaurant. For a formal affair with the evening restaurant set-up elegantly for a superb dining experience, you can choose from an à la carte menu with exceptional food complemented by an extensive list of fine wines. Alternatively, the daytime tearoom is perfect for informal lunches, meals and afternoon teas. Leading from the dining room is access to our exclusive tea garden next to the running waters of the River Valency.
We enjoyed a late lunch here on Saturday afternoon. The food was delicious as was the wine and views across the river. Everything was well presented and the service was friendly and efficient. we would definitely come back again as we had a lovely afternoon here..

Was passing while visiting beautiful Boscastle and fancied a late breakfast, was met by friendly staff, very nice decor. Prompt service and most importantly the food was absolutely delicious. We had the Midi breakfast, good price, all freshly cooked. Will definitely call in again. Was quiet at 1130 but much busier when we passed by later for lunch service, so suggest booking.

Small and intimate restaurant, serving authentic, rustic Italian cuisine.
Lovely place for authentic Italian food. Very welcoming, friendly family restaurant. They are happy to serve gluten free pasta in most meals. Delicious food even the gluten free options. We would certainly recommend eating here.

If you want high quality Pub Grub...Great portion size and value for money then this is the place to go. We have tables in the bar areas and outside and a family room with books and pictures to colour for the kids. We have a restaurant area where service is by waitress and the menu is as the down stairs but the ambiance differs from the bar areas for those wanting the quality of our food with that extra special service. We have live music on Saturday nights therefore all tables are removed from the main bar area leaving Seating in the bottom bar and family area. This is always a busy night so booking for a meal is always necessary. The music starts at 9.30Pm till 12.30Ish and can be view on our web page. We also have many events which are well worth a visit always with great entertainment and always for a deserving cause.
Went to cobweb for dinner today with my 3 children, there partners, husband, mother & father in law. Lovely and friendly pub, staff couldn’t do enough for us open fire was very welcoming. Roast dinner was the best I have had in a long time pudding was to died for, we will definitely be back again.

Ye Olde Malthouse Inn in Tintagel, Cornwall is a 14th century pub and bed & breakfast establishment offering accommodation, an old country pub atmosphere, local ales and a buffet restaurant service. The Olde Malthouse Inn changed hands in May 2014 and has undergone extensive refurbishment throughout. We reopened in the last week of July 2014.
I came very close to giving this picturesque and cosy old Inn a couple of stars fewer but they redeemed themselves in the end and I strongly suspect that, on another day, our experience would have been better.
A horrible, rainy day in Tintagel and we all felt the lure of a hearty and warming Cornish Pasty. There are many cafes, pubs and tea shops to choose from in Tintagel and we chose this one on the basis that it looked inviting and, moreover, had a sign prominently displayed outside, extolling the virtues of the traditional pasty and suggesting we eat one on the premises.
We found the staff very friendly and welcoming but, when we asked for 5 pasties, they responded that there was only one left. This was not late in the day and, indeed, I heard two more parties of people come in and ask for pasties.
We were disappointed but, rather than return to the rainy high street, we decided to be philosophical and choose alternatives.
I chose the crab Sandwich from the specials board and, ten minutes later, was informed that there were no crab sandwiches left. I had now lost my sense of humour about this and decided to have a drink only, picking up a snack later on elsewhere. Meanwhile, my dad ate the solitary pasty which was so dried up that he had a really tough job cutting through the pastry. The filling was equally desiccated and we suspected it had been keep warm for a prolonged time.
What really irked me, though, was that they were advertising what they didn't actually have - after all, this is how people choose where to eat and we rejected other eateries on this basis. When we left, the pasty sign was still on the pavement outside and the crab had not been removed from the specials board.
However, the food that the rest of the party ate was good, the prices were fair and the service remained friendly and attentive. Moreover, when we went to pay and my dad mentioned the condition of his pasty, they unhesitatingly compensated us by removing that item plus all of the drinks from the bill. I thought this was a fair and proportional response, made gracefully and, for that reason, would give the place another chance.

Food great, pub toilets outstanding. Good central location. Pleasant welcoming accommodating staff. Building has character, big thick stone walls and low ceilings. Plenty of room, dogs welcome.

Overlooking the harbour in the Cornish fishing village of Boscastle and surrounded by the beautiful North Cornwall coastline, the Wellington Hotel has been providing a warm welcome to its guests for many years. It is one of Cornwall’s oldest Coaching Inns and dates back to the 16th Century. Awarded 2 AA Rosettes and using local seasonal produce, The Long Bar and Restaurant offers modern British cuisine in a classic yet relaxed setting. Whether you want an informal meal in the bar or table service in the restaurant, there is plenty of superb dishes to choose from.
Been to Boscastle many times and been to 'the welly' on most visits. We had no reason not to visit this time, but now we wish we had stayed away as we endured one of the most awful dining experiences I can remember!
We made a point of going in early afternoon to reserve a table next to the fire where we thought we could settle our two dogs out of the way, no problem we were told!... Arrive early evening to be told they had given our table to another party and we were now sat at a table and the very far end of the restaurant?
We then waited 50 mins for our food even though the place was virtually empty due to storm 'brian' raging outside!
Of our four mains, two were mussels which were deemed way below par as too gritty! A complaint was made to the manager who agreed not to charge for one of the mains.
We ask for our bill and notice that an expensive bottle of red wine had somehow appeared! Back to the manager who agrees we didn't have any wine with our meals!
There is nothing I can recommend about this place! Stay well away!

Hi from sunny Cornwall! We source as much of the food & drink locally as possible and we cook simple but well prepared food. Local fresh fish,home-made pizzas, burgers and daily specials. We also have fresh cakes, Cornish cheeses, meats and Cornish smoked fish in our deli.Charlie would like to welcome families to the restaurant and we even have a special indoor play area for toddlers. We do small portions of our regular menu, so everyone can enjoy the same food.Come and enjoy some good, honest foodand see us very soon! From Daniel, Rebecca & Charlie xxx
Had a delightful lunch with a lovely cup of tea, surrounded in an Aladdin’s cave of Cornish produce to purchase and a well stocked deli counter.
This quaint little establishment was overseen by a lovely young lady whose manner was one of kindness and enthusiasm- delicious sand which was eaten with pleasure- many thanks x
