We arrived early. It was quite initially but a buzz developed as the evening wore on. The service was convivial and frequent. Questions were asked and suggestions made and followed. The truit (trout) was good as was the local chardonnay (fresh fruit but not sweet). The fromage was excellent including the comte and a fresh soft cheese. Perfectly matched with the Arbois (a savagnin with sherry overtones). Would we return? We would very much like to. As an aside the fresh lemon meringue pie was sliced adjacent to our table - it looked so good we photographed it - so if you do not prefer cheese!

My booking was at 21:00 but I arrived an hour early. The manager didn't make any fuss and happily accommodated me.
I took the Menu Neptune (52 euros with an entree, a main course, a cheese plate and a dessert). There're also the amouse bouche and petit four. Altogether quite a lot of food for me.
The food was tasty and beautifully presented. I in particular loved the starter marble of foie gras and oxtail in truffle vinegar with date chutney.
The service was good. Attentive but not too formal. The waiter took time to write down the name of one of the cheeses I took. After I'd paid my bill and was ready to go, the manager walked me to the door and even gave me a nice book called "Le Doubs saveurs et patrimoine" as a souvenir. The book was heavy but I thought it'd be rude to refuse his kind offer.
Go to Le Saint Pierre and you won't be disappointed.

A fabulous little restaurant down a back alley... got to book, several people were turned away while we were there.. now I know why... what a wonderful meal we had, best Indian meal by far, everything, even down to the wine and waitress, all just perfect! Would not visit Besancon again which is a real shame as this is the nicest Indian meal I have ever had the pleasure to have :)

We have just returned to our hotel after an absolutely wonderful serendipitous evening! We had no idea where to eat and happened upon La Petite Adresse. The simple menu reflected the quality of the food...simply delicious! With the freshest of foods cooked with simple naturalness and complimented with delicious wines we had a delightful time. Pierre, the patron, was very welcoming and was an obvious hot with the regulars! Indeed, the interaction between us newcomers, the regulars and Pierre...we had an evening to remember!

We went for a lunch there based on all the top ratings. The service was not outstanding, quite slow and not remarkable as described in other ratings. Probably we just weren't lucky that day.. The prices are quite high for Besançon, where you can have very nice menus at lunch time for less money. The bathroom was quite shocking. It is located outside the Restaurant in a very small and bad smelling room where you cannot turn around without touching the walls. The plates were nice and tasty but not the best Sushi we've ever eaten. I would usually give a 3 points rating for this kind of Restaurant, but made a 2 on purpose as this Restaurant is definitely overrated.

Restaurant et cave à vin, cuisine familiale et traditionnelle, très bons produits, une carte qui change tous les mois ou tous les 2 mois pour s'adapter à la saison.
The best meal of our trip. This is a small, quirky restaurant situated above a wine cave well off the beaten track in the pretty town of Besancon. There are only a few tables, a concise menu and Bernard, the owner, chooses which wines to serve!
The food was excellent – stand-out dishes included the cheese and fig terrine, the chef’s terrine (which features whatever ingredients he feels like that day!), the ‘coddled’ eggs, the really delicious veal kidneys and the house speciality dessert – crème brulee with yellow wine.
We were served several different wines from sparkling Limoux as an aperitif through a selection of red and white wine to match the dishes and finishing with dessert wine. But Bernard’s warm welcome was what truly makes the difference here – perhaps he’s equally “Hail fellow, well met” with all of his customers but he certainly made us feel special, we had a fantastic night and the bill for eight of us came to just E300!!

Review of L'O a la Bouche
We were trying to dine at Le Velvet but it's still undergoing some refurbishment, so the concierge at the hotel suggested this place. Certainly the other reviews on Tripadvisor seem positive, and we have no differing opinions to offer.
This review is written from the perspective of a Kiwi on a first-time trip to Tahiti, so if you're interested in info, read on. Otherwise - great restaurant. Go, but book in first.
So, as New Zealanders traveling to Tahiti for the first time, we were shocked at the prices for food in general, especially at our hotel.
L'O a la Bouches' prices are about half of what were charged at the Papeete Intercontinental, despite being better food on the whole.
My husband started with a Pina colada for 1300CFP, as opposed to the eye-watering 2500 - 3000 for a cocktail at the hotel. A glass of good French wine was 1200 as opposed to 2000. (12 USD vs 20 USD).
Our starters were a buffalo mozzarella special (yum, but not a dish for breaking new culinary ground) and goat's cheese rolls. As others reviewers mention, the portion sizes are very generous.
For the main, my hubby had filet mignon. It was not a huge portion and rather rare. It was sliced and served on salad. There were plenty of sides and we struggled to finish it all, because we wanted to have dessert as well.
My main was the Pappio, the one on the standard menu. Apparently it's a deep sea fish, so it's rather firm. It was paired with a lemon, ginger and passionfruit dressing with a buttery base. It was excellent - and inspiring. (I'm imagining that sauce lifting pan-fried warehou.)
For dessert, they had a gorgeous array of sweet treats which were hard to choose from, although it was surprising that they had no cheese option. You know, being French and all.:-)
I had a Mariage Freres tea, which prompted memories of trying and buying the tea brand in Paris.
My hubby had the fruit crumble which was served with ice cream. He found it good but a bit dry with more crumble than fruit.
The damage came to 16 850 CPF, about 168 USD. We'll see what it comes to in NZD, but I'm expecting about $225.
Would I spend that in NZ? Probably not, but it's holiday and I was pleased that it cost less than dining at the hotel.
All in all, was a very nice eating experience. It's clearly favoured by locals for special occasions, as our taxi driver says he goes there for Valentine's Day or birthdays with his girlfriend.
Oh, and you should be aware that the taco round trip from the Hotel IC was 5000 CPF. 2000 for the way there and 3000 for the way back because it was after 8:00.
Incidentally, a tour guide on Huahine explained why the prices are so high.
It's not just that most everything comes in by boat, it's also that French labour and holiday and minimum wage laws apply.
That means that everything has a very high base cost.
The upside is that, under French administration, the roads and infrastructure are also very good. This means that Tahiti is not as much like a third world country as other island capitals, which makes it a pleasant and liveable place to be.

A pizza fan, I chose the pizza 3 fromages. So delicious, true Italian pizza in Besançon. Server is so nice and welcoming. Manager is helpful I recommend this restaurant especially that price is correct

Restaurant Specialty of Gratins and Crumbles Salés (mainly made with regional / artisan products: cold meats, cheeses, fish) or Sweetened variants depending on the fruits of the seasons. We also value regional wines and regional beers (La Rouget de L'isle). At your service ... ... since 2013, our traditional restaurant offers you a menu where the authenticity of the rich gastronomic heritage of the Franche-Comté is found both by the style of the establishment and the regional handicraft products of our suppliers . The atmosphere is friendly, warm and intimate, in a rustic setting, a legacy of popular architecture of the 18th century. You can enjoy its Terrace during the summer season, but also its air-conditioned room.
Speciality sausage with melted garlicy cheese, salad and amazing fries for my husband whilst I ate bresola and goats cheese salad also served with fries and slightly weirdly, salted ice cream. Followed by speciality ice creams, we were trying to eat 'light' but the portions were generous and all very filling. Great value, simple, local with friendly and accommodating staff. Not fine dining, but what's not to like?

You must reserved in advance before eating here, it seems like they're always full.
I ate here twice. First time was with my family, second time with my husband.
Whatever you choose I think you want be disappointed. You can tell that their dish is fresh.
First time I had lamb with squash sauce and rice with safran.
Second time I had beef sauté (with 5 spices & thai basilic) and fried noodles with vegetables.
I think they change their menu along with seasonal vegetables and availability.
It is very convenient that they have an open kitchen, you can see the cook prepare your meal. It assures me that they are confident with their service. *thumbsup*
The restaurant is small, I didn't recommend it if you have a huge backpack or a luggage with you.
