We were in a party of 3 for lunch and had a wait of about 15 minutes for a table although there appeared to be plenty of available tables. It was a small celebration lunch and we were looking forward to some slightly special food. The menu was very average with nothing really exiting but there was a reasonable choice. It was another 15 minutes before our order was taken and then another 20 minutes before the first course arrived. The food was good without being great or exceptional. As I was the only person having a starter, I was finished well within 5 minutes but it was another 20 minutes before the main course arrived. Again the food was good to average but most defiantly not great. My other 2 friends had a desert which was basically a cake with ice cream and it took 15 minutes to arrive at the table. I do not know if there were problems with staff but the other tables who were all having afternoon tea by the time we finished appeared to be served very much quicker than we were. We arrived at the restaurant for lunch just before 1 o'clock and left at 3:45 having had a 2 course lunch, not good service by any stretch of the imagination.

Family-friendly Scottish restaurant in BothwellCricklewood is a family-friendly restaurant in the heart of leafy Bothwell and provides a welcoming atmosphere and quality home-cooked food. Under 18s are welcome in the bar and restaurant areas until 20:00 each evening, and wheelchair access is available in the main bar and a small area of the restaurant.Simple ingredients, quality foodThe restaurant is popular for its traditional Sunday roast, and fans of the classics will be pleased to hear that items such as the homemade steak pie, fish & chips, and firm favourite macaroni cheese are amongst Cricklewood's offerings.Accessibility to BothwellCricklewood is on Hamilton Road in Bothwell and has limited on-site parking, although some street parking is available nearby. Visitors can also find several bus stops close to the restaurant.Free wifi access is available every day of the week, ideal if you've got a working lunch or just feel like a nosey on Facebook.
I have to say the Cricklewood really let us down this time. I'd been here before on two other occasions and the food and wine was very good. I wouldn't be writing this review if I thought I didn't have to. But unfortunately on this occasion, I think the restaurant should take note of what I am about to say. The staff were very accommodating and helpful so that was great. The cocktails were lovely. However, it is supposed to be an up-market gastro pub/restaurant/bar which should live up to its name. I write reviews all the time and I would like to think I give an honest approach and one that is worthy of 'constructive' criticism. I am also a cook myself and I know the difference between insipid and tasty.
We had ordered the BEEF AND BEER PIE which was supposed to come with thick cut chips, instead, it came with old saggy wedge cut potatoes, which were not pleasant to the eye and did not taste good at all.
And the beef and beer pie, well, what can I say? Terrible. I think the only good thing about that meal was the lovely golden crusty pastry itself. The beef cuts were awful, all chewy, dry and tough - a bit like an old leather boot. The gravy wasn't a gravy at all. If it was a real chef in the kitchen he or she should know how to make a decent gravy. It was really awful. It lacked consistency, taste, seasoning and colour. I would not recommend this dish. I am aware the restaurant were always advertising for chefs. The last chef we had was different, I'm sure of it. The chef this time may have been a new recruit. Well I'm sorry and I'm not, a place of this so-called standard should not be serving this low quality food!

Had the early evening menu here with friends and was not disappointed. Welcome was warm, food was lovely, service, as always, was great. We all enjoyed the various dishes served to our table and the value for money is great. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Lanarkshire, but, it's quite small, so booking is a must. Only suggestion would be for them to open a bit earlier, 5.30pm is a little late if travelling into town for a show, so we end up in town to eat more often than not, which is a shame. Will still go here as often as possible though. Well worth a visit if you haven't been.

Family group various ages booking a la carte menu ,food as always excellent BUT the service poor, left sitting with dirty plates no effort to remove them had to ask !! then no one approached with a dessert menu again had to ask!! and the restaurant was not busy ,staff stood behind the bar chatting. Our bill was over £200 so I think we deserved better ,there are a lot of new restaurants in the area so competition is becoming fearsome so better sort this out or your regular customers will desert you.

This is a fabulous restaurant. The staff are pleasant, welcoming and attentive. The food is just delicious and great value. I would recommend this to anyone. From couples to parties, it suits all. Depending on what time of day you arrive and what you order this can be pleasantly inexpensive or a bit dearer, but never disappointing.

Went with another couple and had a great experience!
The food was great and when one of our party asked for a change to their dish from potatoes to pasta it was done no problem. I think the waitresses deserve a special mention as it was their attention to detail and friendliness that elevated the evening to a different level.
Well worth a visit!

I was very impressed by the lunch menu at Leonardo’s. I had mussels in white wine and sea bass which came in a delicious sauce with a platter of very good vegetables. The 2 course menu is only £8.95 which, given the quality of the food, was excellent value. Service was very friendly and professional.
