Fantastic very reasonably priced food in a quintessential German setting; the restaurant was bustling with locals throughout the day & while it is not at all fancy or trendy, it was a nice experience.
There's a great selection of traditional German dishes, which are a hearty size. We sat in what appeared to be the brewery section but apparently it's not active anymore... even though there is a museum next door on its history.
The service however was horrendous; it took forever to get a menu, which we shared. As one of the group hadn't experienced German food before we ordered quite a lot of starters and a main course each, which the waitress was so astounded about she quite loudly asked us if we were expecting more people as we has ordered so much (3 mains and 2 starters between 3 people)& even told the next table how shocked she was at how much we had ordered, which was really embarrassing.
I'd recommend the restaurant if you know what you like and are looking for an authentic German experience... right down to the slow and to the point service!

Yet another very old building housing a very good restaurant. Very close to the castle. The food is good, as is the German beer. The pretty female staff are very attentive, and make the dining experience even more enjoyable. I definately, definately reccommend this as a 'must go' place. I will be back.

Friendly and attentive service, superb choice of typical German cuisine in a stylish restaurant in a beautiful location-what more could you ask for? Spring, Summer and Fall there are many outdoor tables from the main restaurant itself as well the adjacent rustic typical beer-garden restaurant. Excellent selection of fine wine and beer, as well as non-alcoholic beverages for the entire family.

I was expecting to eat in my hotel in Aschaffenberg but the hotel restaurant was closed. The hotel booked me into Weinstube Kitz. It was wonderful. The starter of Parmesan soup was remarkably good; the main course of Zander was outstanding - sauce, black pudding and pear combined to make a wonderful plate. The dessert of chocolate mousse and caramel ice cream was equally good. And all this excellence for €40 including a large glass of wine and water. I would have been happy had I been asked to pay more. The restaurant is relaxed and informal but with excellent service. I cannot fault he experience.
By the way if you are flying out of Frankfurt Airport and you do not want an airport or city centre hotel, Aschaffenberg is a great alternative. 30 mins on the ICE straight to the terminals. I will make sure I fly from Frankfurt in future just to come back to Weinstube Witz.

This is a very nice restaurant. The place is very old but its been new constructed to look great. The place has a nice garden. They serve traditional food and also great ala carte foods. Great place to have a dinner.

Being literally on Main river, with excellent view and position, Pier 18 has all premises for a great experienced. Doubled by really good food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere, this restaurant is a great choice for an evening- regardless if business, romantic or food enjoying one

While Ascheffanburg is not exactly the culinary capital of the world (or even Bavaria for that matter), we expected a bit more from the Tripadvisor #1 rated restaurant. The food was very bland, enough to fill you up, but nothing to write home about. The prices were not very low to begin with, and then they charged 4 Euro per person service charge (the only restaurant to do it on our 16 day trip of Bavaria).

"The beerSepp" the origianl Schlappeseppel beer in Aschaffenburg. Take a seat and enjoy intimate moments in our quaint Bavarian Inn. With us you can in a cozy atmosphere "traditional" and "regional" enjoy food with a fresh draft Schlappeseppel or a glass of wine. During the summer months, we treat you in our beer garden! We found about 100 people, including about 45 in our cozy vaulted cellar. It is an ideal place for celebrations of all kinds. The beer Sepp is located in the immediate vicinity of the castle Johannesburg.
My husband thought he made a reservation on Yelp but the restaurant had no record. Lucky for us it wasn't busy and we got a seat. The building is old and uses radiator heating and one table in particular is right next to it so...MoreHi, Thank you for your super review here on Tripadvisor. We, the team from BierSepp, are very happy about it. Greetings from Aschaffenburg Theo

The place is located close to the city center. There are not a lot of table inside, and a reservation is suggested.
The two italian guys that manage that place put all their effort for a good result and they are on the right way.
They use good raw material and you can feel it either on the pizza or on the other dish like pasta or big salad.

Very cute small coffee shop focused on high quality self produced products such as cereals, toasted panini and more. Place to be for breakfast or just a cappuccino / espresso.
We found this place on the internet and tried it since we were in Aschaffenburg for some other reasons. My boyfriend is really special when it comes to his espresso but we are glad it was awesome! We had breakfast, tried the cappuccino, espresso, a smoothie and bought some cupcakes for friends. Everything was just wonderful! Service is great and prices are reasonable. Totally recommend it and we will definitely come back even though we are not living close by.
