It is the oldest restaurant in Arandjelovac, the hart of Šumadija region in Serbia. Šumadija, is considered as a typical Serbian region that still keeps all the ethnic Serbian traditions. Specifically, restaurant "Aleksandar" is well known as an exclusive restaurant, where the royal Serbian family Karadjordjevic used to have meals, arrange meetings with the Orthodox Sebian church leaders and where they have held important events that shaped Serbian history later on.
Great food and drink had a great time was part of a coach tour group Trafalgar. Very clean and beautifully decorated through out on the main street but a short walk around the garden is a nice entry to the restaurant give it a go you want be disappointed.

You must go there!
Restaurant is set in a typical Serbian village. Food is very good to excellent.
Service is magnificent and overall feel of the place is unreal. Hot bread that is baked on site is out of this world! And because it's not in Belgrade, it's cheap!
Warm recommendations!

Delicious food, well prepared, first class ingredients, excellent wine. For sure not typical Serbian. Painfull to get there, but gastronomically you will be compensated. Only when the bill comes into the equation you might lose some of the initial excitement.... Indeed prices are quite high.

I recently ate at Grb for the second time. Both times, I have had an excellent culinary experience. The menu is the standard in Serbia with the usual routine of dishes from Karageorge schnitzel to shopska salad. That said, it brings an added quality to this well trodden fare. For example, the lamb marinated in milk was flavoursome and very tender - a dish which I came across for the first time and which a Serb friend of mine said harks back to the middle ages. But often it is the simple things done well which say the most. The punjena paprika (roasted paprika marinated and served cold as a salad) was one of the best - it was served with a side bowl filled with the marinade laced with fine shreds of garlic which you could spoon over the dish. This overcome one of the big issues with this dish which is the overpowering taste that comes with large chunks of garlic in the marinade. This is just an example of the added something which Grb brings. All I would say is that the roasted smoked pigs neck I had recently was far too dry and so I would simply encourage the kitchen to keep an eye on the roasted meats to try to bring them up to the standard of the rest of the menu.

Topola, small but important town for the history of Serbia. It's impossible not to notice this place, so grand and well decorated. The kind staff will serve you the Serbian delicacies of Šunadija. I began with delicious fried cheese and went on with the rich Sumadian cutlet. Fine atmosphere, very cheap prices.

Nice traditionally looking place. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate breakfasts for a few days and the offering is poor (when staying multiple days it gets boring). It really is a shame the food is mediocre and the waitresses are not so friendly or should I say unfriendly.

Hard to find but our native tour guide recommended it and we were not disappointed at all. We had the Bambi platter, pork ribs, fresh baked breads, and other delicacies with homemade drinks for less than $30 for 4 people and we still took food home. The service was great, maybe one of the best so far in Serbia -smiles are hard to find in some restaurants here in Serbia. Overall, a great place up in the hill with fantastic food an really good service.
