We sat on the roof Terrace, arrived around 8.30pm. Lady gave us menus and explained the specials. Food and wine came quite quickly; a great Greek salad, chicken in feta and sauce, and keftedes. Plus a litre of house red, bread and water. The food was just excellent, full of flavours. Trouble was, we were then left to fester for an hour with empty plates, and no checking if we wanted anything else. By the time we managed to attract someone's attention, we'd lost any further appetite and just paid and left. Bill was only around €30, so it was good value, but they desperately need more waiting staff; we felt ignored and invisible once they'd delivered the food. So really good food, but really poor service. Hence the 3* rating. Shame.

As with the previous review below, we visited this restaurant on our first night in Amorgos, the board advertising all the specials of the day drew us in, the setting was great along side the harbour front... from the moment we sat down, things got from bad to worse.
The restaurant was not particularly busy however 10 minutes before someone took our drinks order and a further 20 minutes before he came back with the drinks and took the food order, no apology, no Hint of a smile - it was as if we was inconveniencing him with us being there, no recommendation etc. Starter came quickly we ordered the saganaki (I love saganaki and had it a few times here in Greece) but this was very greasy (not olive oil) but very stodgy, and we also had the tomato croquettes which were dry.
A further 25 minute wait for our mains (lamb which was extremely chewy and fatty) and pasticho which was hot in the middle but freezing on the outside (obviously microwaved), we finished our main course and waited for the table to be cleared, however by this point we had been sat down for over 2 hours so we had to go inside to pay for the bill - over €50 !
This place is A Trap for tourists and not a true reflection of amorgon hospitality. We won't be returning to this eatery and neither should you give it a try. Instead walk in the back streets and head to a true Greek taverna.

In Diosmarini's Restaurant you can enjoy Traditional Cuisine of the Cycladic Islands , with pure and biological local products, given in a creative way with care and love, by the sea.You can visit us for Lunch and Dinner, having a nice panoramic view at the port of Katapola. Diosmarini's is found in a naturally protected place by the summer north winds (meltemi) of the Aegean Sea. Enjoy our seafood and our delicious handmade pasta fresca together with our excellent wines. Finish your meal with a pleasant surprise, our fresh homemade sweets and liqueurs!
Great service, friendly people, great food! We went at 11pm and people were more than happy to serve us. Would definitely recommend the makarones. They were nice enough to make a custom dish (pasta) for my friend according to her likes, which was great. Definitely coming back.

We visited this seafront taverna after an afternoon of swimming in Katapola, the ambience of the restaurant was good and there were plenty of locals in which is always a good sign.
We had a light lunch of feta, tzaziki and potato garlic purée along with the grilled calamari which was fresh and delicious. Overall a good spot although we thought the calamari was overpriced at nearly €10.

We were recommended this restaurant by the car rental service. A nice restaurant you can visit if you are on a trip in the area and hungry. The portions were generous. The cuisine wasn't bad, but nothing spesial either. In our opinion, you've got much better options in Amorgos island to enjoy a good Greek meal.

Photos don't do justice to this beautiful oasis with its shady flowered Terrace, great service, great food and drink. It was love at first sight and tho we were staying in Katapola we found ourselves heading to Chora almost every day to eat, drink and just soak in the ambiance here. Besides the food (try any of the salads or specials of the day, green falafels (made with fresh herbs), their home made lemonade kept us coming back. Gorgeous find; fantastic value.

This is a restaurant with a great view to the Aegean sea! When we visited the place they had some fresh fish which we ordered and was really well-grilled. In total we had a salad, a ortion of sea bream fish, sardines, and 2 small raki (100ml each), and we paid . The service is ok, and the quality of the food is good. But the raki they serve is of a great quality!

You will find Amorgialos at the end of the jetty to your left as you disembark from your ship as you arrive in the Port of Aegiali. We open everyday til late in the night from Greek Easter throughout the summer months until the end of September.
The menu here changes every day to reflect what's available. We ate here twice and each time we had something new which we'd not eaten elsewhere in Greece. Stand out dishes were the grilled calamari, the potato salad and a beetroot and orange salad, but everything was really delicious.
It gets busy and they put tables on the harbour edge; I'd eat here if it was the only way of getting a table!

The old man who must have be in his late 80s and probably set up this Resturant was fusing over all his guests going from table to table and talking to everyone. It was a real family affair and it was either his granddaughter or great-granddaughter who served us. She was extremely friendly. The food was nothing special but at the same time very special. Simple home cooked food. Simple traditional dishes cooked beautifully. Food that takes you back to your childhood. No fancy presentation. No pretentiousness. We will definitely go back if we make it back to Amorgos.
