Though Agrigento is a modern city of about 60,000 on Sicily’s southwest coast, the majority of visitors come to experience the past just outside of town. At the Valley of the Temples (Valle dei Templi), citizens of the then-major Greek colony of Akragras began building seven Doric style holy monuments in the sixth century BC. The nearby Archaeological Museum helps put everything into context. Agrigento also has some fascinating sights in its old town, like the medieval Norman cathedral.

We went to this restaurant because of it's unique night view of the temples. However, the
meal was so exquisite that we hardly viewed the spectacular view of the Greek temples.
Sicilian specialities were traditional with a modern twist to them. The pasta fish dishes were just perfect. Absolute must is their prickly pear tart with accompanying almond gelato.

Ristorante recentemente ristrutturato, offre alla propria clientela una vista stupenda sulla valle dei templi di Agrigento. Presso il nostro ristorante potrete gustare la classica cucina siciliana rivisitata in chiave moderna.
Our group had lunch here after visiting the museum but before doing the Valley of the Temples. Though we were indoors, the place was charming and the service good. The antipasti/charcuterie plate was good; pasta, good; the pork was lean, and lemon sorbet was excellent.
I enjoyed the tilework throughout.

Went here on Saterday evening. Popular place, trendy look. We really loved the atmosphere, but maybe our expectations for the food was a bit too high. It's served very well decorated in line with the location itself. But the quality of the food could have been a bit better, compared with the price we payed.

Our B&B recommended this restaurant, and booked us a private balcony table overlooking the square. It definitely lived up to expectations - in fact probably exceeded them! Delicious food (although a lot of it) - helpful and friendly staff who were very professional and a great atmosphere. I'd recommend to anyone after a special night out who is in the area.

Monte Mare, as well as Bed and Breakfast is also a restaurant-pizzeria and it is characterized by a variety of high quality services. In addition to taste the best traditional Sicilian cuisine and the delicious pizzas cooked in a wood oven, you can spend a holiday surrounded by the landscape, where the structure is embraced by a boundless horizon, you can choose to sit inside near the fireplace or outside on the heated panoramic veranda. The Bed & Breakfast, with its bright and spacious rooms that overlook the boundless valley overlooking the sea, is the guarantee of an enjoyable vacation in a welcoming and wonderful atmosphere. Organisation of events, parties, banquets are, for Monte Mare, opportunities to engage all our customers with fun services such as karaoke! The serenity of the place and the swimming pool allow you to complete a relaxing vacation with the certainty of relax and rest.
We went to Monte Mare for dinner and even so there were no other guests and they could have called it a night, the staff went out of their way to make us enjoy our meal. We had pizza and pasta, which were both good, the octopus starter as well as the catch of the day, both of which were excellent. Thanks especially to Enza for babysitting our daughter :)

Food was great, but it was a very hot data and we did feel the service was a little slow - maybe an extra staff member would have helped?

It's almost all in the title :) This place is tucked away into the curve of a side street away from the main square, so very quiet, but yet clearly a hangout. As Wine Bars go, this seems to attract the usual clientele, i.e. local 30-something, and they have a great selection of local wines. Their sandwiches are huge and really tasty. Recommended warmly.

I reviewed this place and saw the "excellent TripAdvisor" plaque on the premises so thought I was on to a good thing. The 5 stars are wholly warranted and my wife agrees. The owner Massimilliano and his staff are lovely as well. The prices are very reasonable too.
