We were there on a Monday and it was closed. We could look around though and weren't hugely impressed. Walls have been paired to give the impression of stone work and it isn't very elaborate. Maybe it's worth a visit if you can get in but I wouldn't make a special trip.

This church is the most historical part of Zvolen town. It is from the year 1244. It is sacred to St. Elizabeth and for the town of Zvolen has really big importance. The visitors can find here the silence, calm and spiritual elation. It is situated in the old town fast in the middle of SNP square. It is very beautiful building to see and also if you would like to see the Zvolen city from the sky, you can arrange the visiting from the church tower. The keys from the tower are in clergyman's house behind the church. I recommend to see it if you are in Zvolen town.

This is the Museum of the National Uprising (in 1944, against the Nazis). The main concentration is on the history of Slovakia from the 1930s to the end of the war. The fate of the Jews is also well covered. We spent more time here than we had expected - the displays are interesing and well laid out.
The Museum is closed on Mondays.

The park is surrounded by colourful houses, a memorial to the Slovakian National Uprising, St. Elizabeth's Church and a skating rink in winter with children playing there. At one end is a modern shopping centre. A place to relax and while away some free time.
