One of the first tea estates in the region along with Tukvar to register a profit under British owners. Subsequently owned and run by the Bannerjee family and now has passed onto the Laxmi group. But the Brand plays on. The old Makaibari building(belonging to the Bannejees) burned down this year.I shall certainly miss Rajah Bannerjee inspecting his garden astride on a white steed.

Netaji stayed here for a few months during his internment by the British. He penned his address in the Hirapura conference here. The museum contains memorabilia and items of Netaji's use. Bengalis and patriots might feel nostalgic about these but there is nothing inherently important or spectacular here.

This tea garden produces high quality tea which has fetched the estate numerous awards. Don't miss the factory tour. The water collection system. Their small clinic. And also visit the Kurseong roman Catholic cemetery which is right next to the garden. Cochrane place is right down the road from this garden.

Earlier it was a four hour walk from Kurseong town but now thanks to the newly developed roads it's just a bumpy car ride away . Highlights :-
1 . Peaceful place of worship
2. No badgering priests like Puri
3. No one forces you to pray
4. Just sit and enjoy the silence broken by the gurgling waters of the River Balasun 400feet below the temple.
5. A rudrakhsha tree and yes if your luck is good you might get a good rudrakhsha specimen

Not really a place of tourist interest. It's a place of worship for the devout. Located about one and a half kilometers downhill from Kurseong town on the Hill Cart Road.
The temple is not much to look at from the outside functionality taking precedence over aesthetics. Best time to visit would be during the morning or evening prayers. All locals flock to this temple for blessings ranging from newly married couples to newly purchased cars and the polite unhurried priest and his family obliges.

If you love oranges then you can't resist Sittong. The place, the people, their affection towards the guests/visitors are true from heart.
Although the small village is famous for its Orange plantations, you will be surprised to find various species of birds around you. Being near to Latpanchor village you will be lucky to have the sights of Hornbill from here as well.
The place to be for Orange's.
