What a fantastic park/ trail just minutes from the town. you'd think you are up in muskoka enjoying the water, trails and nature. Even on a chili November day, its relaxing and really beautiful. If you like photography its a fantastic stop for great photos.

Lot's to choose from and I am sure you will enjoy exploring all that is on display. Check it out if you are looking for something special and memorable. Support our local talent!

We were with a tour group. Since we have some on tour with mobility issues, a tour guide from Orangeville boarded our bus and did the tour that way instead of walking. We did stop a certain spots and got off the bus for a closer look. The sculptures were beautifully done. They add much meaning to the community. It was a very informative tour.

3 hour round trip. Scenic and historic as promised, good commentary. This was off season and not overly busy , running the tour with only one car (+/- 50 passengers). The equipment is older but well refurbished and maintained.
Like most rail diners Seating is assigned and in groups of 4 with common table. You end up with one or two others who usually turn out to be good company.
The promised soup and Sandwich snack turned out to be four courses served over the 3 hour period and was excellent in quantity, quality and presentation. China plates, real cutlery, hot damp cotton finger towels, competent and friendly wait staff. All the nonalcoholic beverages you want plus bar service if desired. We have traveled much of North America by train, Via, Amtrack, Algoma Central, Ontario Northland , and the food service is almost always surprisingly good and classy and this is no exception.
This is a low speed passive tour without a lot of staff to entertain you or your kids so if you don't like scenery, trains, or other passengers you may be bored. Booking is essentially on line only and do it early. The train/Go bus station in Orangeville is modern but unmanned and in the industrial part of town so if you have not been there before leave a half hour to find it as it is not obvious or well signed.
Overall good value for the money and would do it again.

We discovered Farmhouse Pottery by accident. A favourite photographer, Rob Stimpson, was speaking on Antarctica and we decided to attend. We are so glad we did. The place is a beautiful setting for talks on the outdoors. There is some wonderful pottery and the pie after the lecture was warm and fantastic. Can't beat the coffee either. We enjoyed ourselves so much we returned a few weeks later for the final lecture of the season by Nicola Ross, a local writer and avid hiker. We also purchased a pottery canoe for our daughter, which is a very unique piece. Perhaps the best part about the place is the owner Al Pace. He is very welcoming and is eager to share a story or two. This place is a gem and worth the visit. They also run a canoe expedition company that offers trips in the Yukon and Northwest Territories that has piqued my interest as well.

Read they do tours and tastings, so expected a good sized brewery with tasting room and food available.
In reality it couldn't be further from what we expected. It is a tiny brewery located in an industrial strip mall. You enter into the office and for the tour they walk you into the back where the vats and bottling line are located.
The tasting was in the office and included a plastic cup and they opened 1 can of beer and poured a tiny amount. Only have 1 dark beer, everything else is lager.
Frankly, I wouldn't waste your time.
