Came across about one hour before the closing time, so it was not difficult to park the car and no queue to get the entrance ticket.
The crowds were busy trying to get out of the salt mine, mainly by elevators, so there were just a few people descending the stairs.
The main hall is impressive and the way the sounds reverberate is stunning. There's one particular place from where one can listen to some seven echoes for each sound.
Took a ride by boat and it was a nice experience. During the last hour before closing time there was no queue at boat rentals and just a few boats were floating on the subterranean salty lake. I splashed my hoodie while paddling and I found a handful of salt on it after getting out of the mine.
Not interrested in ferris wheel and ping-pong.
On the way back we took the stairs up and managed to get out of the mine before the last tourists arrived by elevator.
Purchased some cured ham dried out in one of the salt mine's caverns and we found it tasty.
Cool and odd experience overall, just use some common sense tricks to avoid the crowds! One hour is enough to vist the mine, if it's not overstuffed with tourists.

AMT were great. From our first enquiry, Claudia was responsive, knowledgeable and helpful. Pricing is clear and upfront. Bikes were in good condition (mine had around 20k km). We rode 1,800 km over transfargasan - Bucharest - black sea - danube delta - bran - Turda. One bike needed a new battery, which we had fitted at a local garage. Claudia refunded that on my return, no fuss.
Advice: Take the optional panniers. It means you can leave your helmet plus gear locked on the bike when doing the tourist stuff. It also means if you drop (gently) the bike when moving it around, the panniers can save you. Disadvantage of course is manoeuvring through slow moving traffic - but the roads away from Bucharest were great and this was rarely a problem. Take your GoPro (or buy one) for Transfargasan and as a bonus you can use it in the Black Sea at Constanta too, and the Danube and... yeah, take your GoPro
Fantastic sercive, fantastic trip, good price, I do not hesitate to recommend them.

Găzduim întreg patrimoniul arheologic de peste 40.000 de obiecte descoperite în castrul legiunii V Macedonica şi în oraşul antic Potaissa, în cinci colecţii permanente şi numeroase expoziţii temporare.
Visited one afternoon during a stop off in Turda. Located behind the Basilica, entrance fee was low and staff very welcoming.
Museum is spread over 3 levels and cover mainly archeological history of the local area. There are lots of archeological finds from nearby excavations that are very interesting to see and show the abundant history the the area.
Exhibits & information is plentiful and in local languages & English.
I really enjoyed this museum and recommend visiting. It's small but provides for an interesting time.

A Hidden Treasure, the History Museum in Turda is a fine restoration of a 15th century princely palace housing Dacian and Roman artifacts as well as traditional Romanian items. The museum is a 5 minute walk from the town center.
