Michelle Gonzalez has a wonderful staff of horsemen. We were led by Joey and Elijah who were both knowledgable and caring towards the horses and riders. The well trained Appaloosa/Quarter horses were the most responsive trail horses we have ever ridden. The ride thru the jungle...MoreThank you for your review - it was awesome meeting you both - and the chatting time was excellent! Glover's Reef Marine Reserve

Reviewed By Ashley32905 - Palm Bay, Florida, United States

I went on a day trip to Glovers Reef from Hamanasi Resort. My brother and I had just gotten our open water cert so this was our first dive with a group. My sister wasn't certified so she wanted to snorkel. The boat dropped off the snorkelers first then stayed with the divers until we came up. Once the divers were back on board we picked up the snorkelers and had our surface interval. It was a three tank dive so we repeated that two more times. The dive was great! We had plenty of time at each stop and saw rays, sea turtles, nurse sharks, lobster and tons of fish. I was a little worried that my sister wouldn't get to see as much snorkeling but she got to see just as much marine life as we did, on our 2nd tank I think she saw even more than we did!

Laughing Bird Caye National Park

This is a nice place to go on a tour. We went out on a catamaran, and had a guided snorkel once we reached the caye. The water is spectacular and the island is beautiful There are a lot of people there, it dosnt really matter as it is so gorgeous. This island is not on the reef. The snorkeling is good, you must be guided. There is a little gift shop, very cute and facilities. It is even possible to arrange to camp out there. The water is spectacular, clear and gorgeous....worth the trip

I did this tour today with my wife and four small children. The tour was extremely active, which meant the kids stayed engaged, and I learned a lot as well. The guide was fantastic, answering questions, and the banana chips were an excellent treat at the end of the tour! I highly recommend this tour if you are in in Placencia, or even staying around Hopkins or Dangriga.

Mayflower Bocawina National Park

This is a strenuous but doable hike through the jungles of Southern Belize. You gain about 1,000 feet over about 2 miles. At the top of the hike, you are rewarded with a clear pool at the bottom of a waterfall that you can jump off. Very Cool!

Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Preserve

This reserve was established to help protect the endangered jaguar and other species native to Belize.

Reviewed By Hinoe66 - Richmond, Canada

We decided to head into Cockscomb basin with the hopes of seeing more wildlife, Jaguars in particular. We knew our timing was a little off, being rainy season and all, but we looked forward to some hiking nonetheless. We didn’t see any wildlife except for all the iguanas everywhere. The park itself is gorgeous and had it been a warmer day we wou,d have taken advantage of the beautiful pool under a small waterfall. The flora of the park in itself is worthy of a visit.
My only concern with getting to the nature preserve was the horrible road. Despite having 4-wheel drive the road up was nothing short of a mud wrestling pit. At times I didn’t think we were going to make it, but with some knuckle whitening pit slogging we made it there and back.
As others have stated, lots of bug screen as those nasty little sold flies are everywhere. Good shoes are necessary, but various routes are available to various levels of difficulty. If you go in the off season though, expect to be coming back out with a decent amount of mud on you.
