This is good fun and virtually anyone can do it, it really doesn't require much physical exertion at all. My kids absolutely loved the experience. Managed to record a top speed of 50km/h on one of the zip lines. The guides are good, friendly and...MoreWe are glad you enjoyed the experience! Thank you for your review!

Jo and John are absolutely great. We were a group of seven friends and a child. They kindly accommodated us, as we could catch neither the morning ride nor the afternoon one, and they accepted to book us in between (12 pm). Though we were all beginners, we enjoy the one hour and a half of walk through the forest and the beautiful scenery. I would warmly recommend to all, beginners and experienced the same as they also have paths with obstacles for jumping.
Removed a star/dot in the rating as I feel the bathroom facilities have room for improvement.

My wife and I decided to visit this estate that produces organic wines. We were warmly greeted by a charming and extremely knowledgeable lady who shared her vast experience with us. We chose to taste the entire range of red wines and were politely assured that there's no obligation to buy any wine. We truly enjoyed our wine tasting experience. We bought 2 bottles of CW Reserve Shiraz 2014 and 4 bottles of wine jelly.
We had a delicious lunch at the restaurant too.
We had snails with cheese encased in pasta parcels which was wonderfully cooked. The crumpled prawns (deep fried coated with breadcrumbs ) were equally delicious. For mains we had lamb rump (250g )and sirloin steak (300g) ,again well cooked and delicious.
The service was excellent. The price was reasonable too.

We did the Cape Town to Ceres trip. A very pleasant experience if a bit long by the end of the afternoon. The train is nicely restored the locomotive interesting and the countryside beautiful. The only slightly negative things were the poor wine selection on the train and the lack of decent coffee, instant coffee is not the way to go. The food at the golf club in Ceres was very bland and uninteresting but there was plenty of it.
Would certainly recommend it , and would consider doing one their other offerings.

Matroosberg Reserve, is a Private Nature Reserve 35km outside of Ceres, well known for it's snow during winter and beautiful summer days and crystal pools during summer. Matroosberg Peak is also the highest mountain in the Boland region and because the owners of Matroosberg value Family Life and Adventure, we refer to Matroosberg as Peak of Life or Peak of Adventure. We offer a wide range of activities, have one of the top 10 4x4 trails in SA. But even though we are a big establishment, you will still receive personal attention from the family who owns it, for they really go the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable as possible. This is one of the only self catering establishments, where you can have the services of a butler...how cool is that... Matroosberg offers Hotel service, for guests with an self-catering budget!
We checked into one of the lakeside cottages and were made welcome from the minute we arrived. Cottage was well kitted out with every possible kitchen and bedroom accessory. Even though it snowed while we were there (the highlight of the weekend), we slept very cosily and couldn't complain about the cold inside. The indoor fireplace added to the cosy atmosphere. Our 3 jackrussells enjoyed it so much, their first experience in the snow, and definitely won't be the last
The 4x4 trip up the mountain is a must. The breathtaking views and closeness of the snow as we reached the top was spectacular.
