Uta Fransson and her husband have made a wonderfull life in Lapland. Arctic Glass is a visitor center and shop where they make and sell hand engraved glass and a few other local hand crafted jewelry and knifes. They also have tame raindeers and have raindeer sledge rides in the winter. In the summer they have a small cafe with homemade cakes. Its is just outside the main town of Arvidjaur. They speak English German and Swedish.

This isn't really an open air museum as it is still used by the Sami when they have significant ceremonies etc. Forest Sami will descend upon Lappstad (a slightly derogatory term) from their respective areas. Think of it as an occasional motel.
Still, it's fascinating and worth a look.....even when it's all closed up.

We offer courses in Bushcraft & Survival. Our courses are based on your own experience, knowledge and preferences, ranging from "basic living in the nature" to more advanced "hard core survival" or if you are up for it - a real Survival Challenge. The courses are from one day to a full week and have the theme Survival & Bushcraft knowledge. You will learn how to survive if you find yourself in a vulnerable situation until rescue arrives or you yourself find your way home. The course also teaches you bushcraft skills for example how to create a pleasant and safe existence when you are out in the woods, whether it is on a hiking, fishing or hunting trip or something else entirely.
After a very early lunch (yes, we are spanish :) ) Thomas took us into the woods for almost 3 hours. It was an absolutely amazing experience; a mixture of excitement and quiteness. We will definately repeat if we ever come back to Lapland. Winter clothes are included
Thanks soooo much!

Juerg, Simone and their team are very focussed on exceeding guest expectations. the dog sledding was excellent, with great trainkng and well trained huskies. We were very well looked after on our 5 day stay. Sylvia's freshly baked breads every day were a delight, and motivated us get up and into the breakfast room! The open air hot tub looking at the northern lights was a special highlight. Supplied clothing was excellent and kept us warm. Top marks to the Wildact team. Keep it up and we will be forced to revisit soon!
