Walsall (/ˈwɔːlsɔːl/ ( listen) or /ˈwɒlsɔːl/) is an industrial town in the West Midlands of England. It is located 8 miles north-west of Birmingham and 6 miles east of Wolverhampton. Historically part of Staffordshire, Walsall is a component area of the West Midlands conurbation.

Walsall Leather Museum is a welcoming and friendly attraction housed in a restored Victorian factory building. We offer a fascinating insight into the story of Walsall's famous leatherworking trade. There are regular guided ours and demonstrations of leather crafts, and lively programme of events and activities throughout the year, including changing Exhibitions. Beautiful Gardens planted with traditional tanning trees and shrubs. The museum has an excellent shop specialising in Walsall-made leathergoods.

Easy to find-just off junction 10 of the M6 motorway. Pay and display car parking available just over the road. Entrance is free. There is a wealth of information available inside this quaint Victorian factory, on the leather trade in Walsall, describing the town's rise into an international saddle making centre.
There are exhibits of saddlery and leather goods as well as a workshop manned on the day we visited by Wendy and Paul, who between them have nearly 100 years of service in the leather industry-and nearly as many tales to tell! They really made our visit even more worthwhile.
You can make your own leather key ring and buy items that have been made in the workshop from the on site shop. Definitely worth a visit!

Despite living in the town for many years I havent visited the Arboretum since the days of the illuminations.I signed up to "Parkrun" and did my first run last weekend..I was so impressed with the facilities now.The Gardens are immaculate ,well laid out and maintained. The cafe is modern ,warm and inviting. Great assett to Walsall.

The Chasewater Railway operates heritage steam and diesel trains on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays throughout the year, most Saturdays Easter to October and certain weekdays throughout the summer. The Railway is rapidly gaining recognition as one of the major visitor attractions within the Walsall, Lichfield & Cannock areas. With its policy of great value fares and membership fees, it offers an excellent day out for families, friends and railway enthusiasts as well as corporate and social hospitality. The Railway operates passenger trains from its headquarters at Brownhills West to Chasetown Church Street, with intermediate stations at Norton Lakeside and Chasewater Heaths. A round trip of nearly 4 miles takes about 45 minutes. Day Rover tickets offer unlimited travel on all trains operating on the day of issue.

Vidit Chasewater and take a trip on this lovely railway. Picturesque route on a train pulled by a steam engine. Doggies very welcome too. Good for the kids to take a trip too.

Went here last night,Micheal Jackson tribute act on,he was ok.only played on the roulette tables,all good.only real negative was the strawberry daiquiri's for my wife & our friend,which were nothing like a daiquiri,they politely complained to bar staff who said other people had complained about them too.they offered to top it up with lemonade??!!!....if there not proper daiquiri's surely they shouldn't be selling them as daiquiris(at £7.50 a pop)....so avoid cocktails!!

Our visit was good. Whilst we all knew "the ropes" we were politely taken through the briefing before being kitted out with the overalls and helmets. Our party managed to find a lid that fitted OK but the sizes were a bit limited - if you have your own helmet I suggest you remember to take it with you.
The karts were generally good and the different colours allowed you to recognise who was who. The marshalling was good - OK none of our party were being daft so the guys didn't need to be officious in keeping things moving along - and between sessions they were happy to banter. Good experience.
The track itself is short (sub 20 sec laps) that provides a challenge to get right. The surface being concrete can be fun when it is cold as the grip is low meaning you can become a "drift king", or try to be one!!

We attended a pre-season friendly here for the first time.
Plenty of parking and quick and easy access to the ground. Took us less than 5 minutes to enter with no searching of bags.
Struggled to find where the toilets were as it wasn't signposted very well until you got closer.
Good seats and close to the pitch although we had a large girder blocking our view of the goal.
Quick exit after the game too.

Now owned and operated by the Black Country Museum this is a very special little museum with great atmosphere, in the lockmaking capital of England. The museum is in two parts. The workshop at the rear focuses on how locks were hand forged by generations of the Hodson family. In the house itself there are great period room displays, and you get to hear the story of the Hodson sisters who ran a dress shop here. When there`s a fire going in the range the whole place has tremendous character. Nice enthusiastic guides. Don't miss nearby Willenhall town centre which has great character too, and unlike so many local towns thankfully escaped total rebuilding in the 1960s.

Took my grandson this week to the training pool. Nice spacious changing rooms. Easy to walk in few shallow steps. Showers and lockers plenty/ Free hairdryers and shoe covers for visitors to the pool side not swimming. Lockers charge £1 returned when the locker is opened.

Located at the rear of the garden centre this is a nice place to kill for an hour walking around the pool. You can buy fish food from the garden centre and there are plenty of huge fish always hungry. Great for young kids. Nothing special just a pool.
