Actually we had a real fun night at the Casino. With the Velden Basic Card which we received for free from our hotel we received a discount on the entry. Actually it was a package of entry plus chips worth € 30 plus one additional chip which you could go for a full number ("Glückschip"), plus a nice glas Prosecco.
I personally preferred it to the Casino in Vienna as it has a bigger main area and a round bar in the middle, where you can watch the different tables from. I even had the feeling that the average age of visitors was lower than in Vienna. As well the dresscode seems not to be as strict (lot of people wearing just jeans).
The drinks at the bar were nice, even all cocktails really good. And not to forget the piano player who was amazing. Just can recommend to go there for a nice evening out ...

It was busy at the Pyramidenkogel with coaches and "petjesauto's" (This is a Dutch word for more or less derelict cars with noisy exhaust systems, mostly driven by youthful persons with baseball caps). Later we became aware that is was the annual GTI week was celebrated here. But returning to my review, with clear weather it is always rewarding to go up (by elevator) and enjoy the impressive views over the Worthersee. Free parking, entrance for a fee. Free entrance with the Kärnten Card. By the way, when on the viewing platform it is also spectacular to see approaching coaches negotiate the final hairpin curves to the parking lot.

This attraction is great for young families. It's well sign-posted and is somewhere that youngsters can enjoy the animals and the outdoor play. There are small animals that attract youngsters alongside deer and other larger animals. The outdoor play area is always popular with the children and there's a kiosk where you can purchase food and drink as well as a small gift shop. It's also open most of the year round, so a good place to visit in late autumn too.

You can here again and again and experience the peace and quiet of this little gem. And DON'T forget to go into the church, it is amazingly beautiful. If you have the chance, take in a concert featured during the summer month. It's MAGIC!

This is a small lake south of Villach in a relatively flat area, not as scenic as other nearby. The water is blue and crystal clear. The major problem is that the entire lake had been cordoned out by commercial activities, hotel and camping and it is not accessible without a fee and there is no way to walk along the shores.

On the small peninsula, where the village proper Maria Wörth is situated, the main church, the Wallfahrtkirche, is situated on a low hill. Step up through a stone gate up some steps into the churchyard. The churchyard is interesting with "headstones" artistically made of wrought iron. The church itself, inside, is decorated, as most Catholic churches with a splendid altar, a richly appointed pulpit and many priceless images. By the way, Maria Wörth is best visited in spring or autumn. In the summer, this village on the Wörther See is teeming with tourists and parking spaces are then at premium.

At Monkey Mountain , you are not just observers of animal experience - you are no barriers in the middle! They are close in the universe of 155 Japanese macaques . In the guide with our Makakenexperten ( zookeeper , anthropologist ) You learn a lot about the lives of monkeys , their needs and behavior . Watch 155 macaques , which do exactly what would you do with sin freedom also : quarrel , fall in love , raise children ... and if you're lucky , it live and see how our ape like to swim and even dive .
In this park, close to Landskron Castle (yes, on the same € 3.50 parking fee; drive to the appropriate parking lot) 140 Japanese macaques are living. Every half hour a tour can be joined with a tour guide explaining about the monkeys and doing some...MoreThank you Hendrik - I am sorry for the Parking fee - but I am not responsible for that - the Castle is the owner of the street...

This interesting journey starts at the base station at Annenheim (part of Sattendorf), on the shore of Lake Ossiach. Ample parking is provided for; an open parking lot and a multi level car park. Access to the "Gerlitzen Kanzelbahn" is free with the "Kaernten Card", otherwise prepare for approximately € 20.00 a head. The first ride to the middle station is in a closed gondola with perspex windows, which are made rather opaque by sticking advertisements on the outside of the gondola; furthermore, the perspex is rather heavily scratched. Picture taking is only rewarding by leaning out of the window. From the middle station the second ride is spectacular, being in open conveyances, hung from the cable. Don't forget to bring a coat. Arriving at the upper station, the views are stunning. Walking and hiking is rewarding; it is also a choice spot for paragliding. Going down is as spectacular as going up, with the additional prize that we got fortunately into a gondola with comparatively clean windows; so some spectacular pictures of Lake Ossiach could be taken. For catering I advise to bring your own. The cafés and restaurants on the middle station and the upper station are closed or offer unimaginative and relatively expensive "self service" buffet. But, generally speaking, the visit to the "Gerlitzen Kanzelbahn" was a day well spent with lots of unforgettable impressions. See the pictures I attached. To be recommended.
