A fantastic walk to see the huge trees, many Waterfalls and streams. Totally relaxing. If you are quick enough, you will also spot some birds.

We visited Daxi Old Street at around 10.00 in the morning and were underwhelmed. Very few shops were open and the architecture didn't live up to our guide book's hype. Also be aware tnat if travelling by car (as we were) parking is tricky and the surrounding roads are hectic!

You can also feel the rich atmosphere of Christmas in New Taipei City! In December every year, Christmas land in New Taipei City event is organized, consisting of major Christmas celebration activities and stunning art installations. On the Citizens Square, a dazzling array of lights and the tallest open-air Christmas tree in Taiwan attract many passersby to take photos. Furthermore, a series of activities such as the family garden party, Christmas parade carnival and Christmas Eve concert will be designed. Although the programs are different every year, happiness will always be in abundance! Everyone is invited to come to Christmas land in New Taipei City to join the greatest Christmas party in the country to enjoy the cheerful Christmas ambiance and embrace the arrival of a brand new year.
But there's no point to arrange a Taipei trip just for this local event. It's usually cold and rainy during the event. Going to southern Taiwan for an old town trip is a better use of your time.

The first modern ceramics museum in the nation, The construction of the New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum was first proposed in 1988 and opened to the public on November 26, 2000. In twelve years, it has become the leading county museum in Taiwan and the first professional museum wholly dedicated to ceramics.
This museum is located near to yingge train station, usually people will walk to the old street first and thereafter went to this museum as a one day package. However I am not really a museum person, thus the museum is just a glance through fast trip. There is a shop within the museum that sold souvenirs and ceramic mug and pot at a slightly cheaper price than yingge old street, but the varieties are much more lesser, but still worth a trip to see.

The Shiman Shiuku (Stone Gate Dam) is one place in North Taiwan that a local friend with a car may take you to. If there has been little rain recenrly, it may be a trifle deficient in water. For the sake of internatonal relations, try and show some enthusiam. Don't say "it's not like the Hoover Dam." Let's face it, very few dams are.

I have lived in Taoyuan City for a few years now and I have been to Tiger Head Mountain (虎頭山)many times. I live in central Taoyuan and I have frequently walked there many times. It is a bit of a long walk (not too long in my opinion) but there is also a bus. While exploring the mountain, one can find various temples... There is a Confucius temple at the base of the mountain and another Temple further up with a large dragon Fountain. There are also lots of spots to stop and sit on benches and areas of road where there are vendors selling things. However, the really nice thing is that there is a lot of nature here and the air is a lot fresher than in the rest of the city. You can also get a good view of the city if you keep climbing up. Among the first few times going here I have gotten lost actually, but managed to find my way out. It's a great place yo hike and to get some fresh air.

Quickest transportation between Taoyuan airport and Taipei Main Station. Trip takes 37 minutes from Terminal 1 to Taipei Main Station and 40 minutes for Terminal 2 to Taipei Main Station. All express trains stop at a hospital and the industrial park, though it probably should not. Trains have free wifi, but sketchy and did not work for a good part of one trip out of 3 trips taken. Has luggage racks on each car. Runs every 15 minutes or less.

Experience the ancient traditions of Chinese landscaping with the majestic home of the Lin family. A pond, square pavilion and ornamental plants such as cypress, plum and bamboo adorn the majestic garden. Each Chinese New Year there is a chrysanthemum exhibit.
This mansion and garden was one of our stops during a day tour of Taipei. We strolled through and took a number of photos, but did not find it especially interesting. I'm actually not sure what its significance is to Taipei, but it honestly was just an "okay" visit. You might be better served to spend your time another way while in Taipei.

This factory outlets and designer brands shopping centre has all the big names such as Hugo Boss, Skechers, Adidas, Puma and a multitude of others including many luxury brands along with a fairly small food court that is focused on Asian dishes.
We visited mid afternoon on a very hot day so the lack of grass made the whole place very hot, and consequently not many shoppers were around.
Access is easy as an overhead pedestrian walkway links both the newly opened 'purple line' between Taipei, Taoyuan Airport and Hunabei with Gloria Outlets. 100 metres if that further away down an escalator is the very popular Taiwan High Speed Rail that will get passengers at a reasonable fare from Taipei in 19 minutes and from as far away as Kaoshiung in well under two hours.
We wanted to buy particular Skechers shoes but the outlet lacked the design we were after, so we may be 'forced' to buy it at a price 50 per cent more expensive in ripoff Australia.
As always, some establishments had very competitive prices while others were more expensive and lacked sale items.
There is a centrally located good map of all the Gloria Outlets tenancies and escalators to transport one up or down. The centre was very clean with no litter at all.

I went to this night market for 2 or 3 times when I visited to Zhongli city.
This night market is one of the biggest size one and there many food shop, cloth, toy, gaming area etc..
You can have many kinds of Taiwanese food and see/feel Taiwanese culture.
As it is very near "Hotel Kuva Chateau" as I have already reviewed in this hotel and it takes 5mins on foot, I recommend to stay at this hotel if you want to go this night market.
I love this night market very much !!
