Welcome to our authentic family owned horse and husky farm. At our farm you will meet our friendly and active Alaskan and Siberian husky dogs, Alaskan malamutes and original Finn horses. During your visit we will tell you about their life, breeding, history, training, work and holiday. Our location is about 10 km’s along the road 79 towards Muonio from center of Levi. At crossing to the left side of the road you will see our sign Polar Lights Tours.
We had a brilliant ride, following winding paths through deep snow in stunning winter scenery. The horses were in good condition and gave a fabulous ride. Our leader was very friendly and obviously loved all the animals there, horses, huskies and reindeer, and the surrounding landscape. Finishing off with a cup of hot berry juice by the fire was a perfect ending. One of the best short treks I’ve done and I’d certainly go again.

We went to Levi for a 1-week holiday and upon arrival booked a lot of activities in the tourist center. The Snowshoe trip was easily the best experience we've had the whole week.
There were 4 of us, so we were surprised when we were met by 3 friendly guides - Mika, Alice and Jos. The van took us to the top of Levi fell, and Mika led the way with Alice going on the rear. We got our snowshoes and ice sticks, and began walking down the slope. On route we stopped at a Kota for coffee, hot drinks and self-grilled sausages - a traditional treat in such excursions - and even saw some reindeer, a rare sight in the wild. What started as a well paved ski slope quickly turned into a wild forest with trees buried in snow. It was beautiful, the sun was setting, and we could see the view for miles. Walking with the snowshoes is fantastic, and tremendously fun. The guides were excellent and it was clear it's something they've been doing since childhood.
The whole tour took 4 hours, and we covered something like 4 km (2.5 miles).
Bottom line: highly recommended, and we specifically recommend this tour company for all Wilderness activities.

We stayed in Levi in December 2017 and booked several trips from home through the tourist information centre before we went (would recommend doing this as some excursions do tend to get fully booked though you are also able to book on site).
The trips we did were:
-Reindeer sleigh ride on a frozen lake- wonderful experience, beautiful scenery and lovely guides
-Trip to see Santa and Mrs Klaus in their log cabin- totally magical experience.
-Trip to the snow village (ice hotel) definitely worth a visit, the sculptures are amazing, there's no place quite like this!
Each trip was very professional and fun and the guides were lovely. The prices were also much better than the prices we had paid previous years through our travel agent and we also enjoyed them much more because we were part of a much smaller group.
This was our third time in Levi and i would highly recommend booking your excursions here.

Samiland includes a smallish but information packed display of various aspects of the Sami culture of Lapland. Unfortunately we had our (early) teenage sons with us so they got bored before we got chance to read all of the information posters. Lots of interesting things but mostly presented in writing and pictures. There are not very many objects on show.
Perhaps the more interesting part is the outside area presenting various traditional building and structure styles of the Sami. In the outside area they also have (at least in the wintertime) a few reindeer.
When you are buying the tickets in the cafe upstairs, you can also buy a bag of lichen, the reindeer's food of choice (or possibly food of necessity, but anyways that's what they eat in the wintertime in the wild). The three euro bag is of decent size, all four of us got to feed the reindeer. Mostly just the one big one who took the space at the gate and kept the others away.
The museum is located at the top station of the Levi Express gondola, for which you can buy a one trip ticket (which included descent after the museum visit too). There are views from the museum cafe and the area around it so it's worth the trip for that reason as well, if you wouldn't come up otherwise.

Levi Huskypark offers different length huskyrides with over 20 years experience. On the guided tour in the park quests will meet and hear stories about sledge dogs' history and everyday life, animal training and movieanimals such as reindeers, arctic foxes and wolfhybrids. Huskypark is open around the year, on wintertime huskyrides and guided tours and on summertime guided tours and nature programs.
We visited the husky park which included a 4km sled ride (which was freezing) and a tour of the animals including Huskies, red fox, wolfs etc. Sausages and hot juice provided after sled ride was very welcome. Great for kids and animal lovers alike.

Luvattumaa is a true find. Sheltered by the beautiful Lappish nature, Luvattumaa welcomes travellers to open their senses and experience the ice, the snow, the water, the scents and the flavours. During the winter season, snow castle the Levi Ice Gallery opens its doors for the public. Our River Spa is open throughout the year, as is the true heart of Luvattumaa - the Lappish hut restaurant.
We visited the cafe of Luvattumaa by skiing. Very disappointing: they serve crepes which have probably been made somewhere else (in a factory) and warmed up in a microwave oven. They serve the crepes with one teaspoon (!!!) of jam. I also didn't like their doughnuts. All in all, it feels like they just want to rip tourists off by serving low-quality food. And btw, you need to pay 1 euro for tap water even if you buy something else with it.

My absolute favourite thing I did in Levi, Finland! The Icelandic horses were adorable - small but powerful and very sweet. My partner and I were taken on a 2 hour ride through the most magical winter scenery. I've never ridden before and felt perfectly fine. I even fell off twice as my horse stumbled in the snow but as the snow was nearly up to my waist, it was like falling on a pillow! I couldn't recommend this enough! Rug up as it was very very cold!

This company, which translates as Kätkätunturin Erä ja Luonto in Finnish, provides programme services all year round based on previous booking. In winter safari including reindeer ride, ice fishing and salmon soup is the most popular one. Additionally, also snow shoe excursions and Wilderness skills competitions are available. In summer one can enjoy sauna and fishing on our lake, marking reindeer at the farm, hikes in the bog or hunting geese, and other fowl.
Wonderful experience with the reindeer ride, ice fishing and snow shoeing. Even better that one of the group member caught a fish that was later shared with everyone.

Had a great afternoon meeting and feeding the reindeers and enjoying a 3km sleigh ride through the beautiful snow laden forest, afterwards we went and had a hot drink and cake while listening to an interesting talk given about the traditional Lappish reindeer farm, would recommend this trip and only a 15 minute drive from Levi, booked through inghams who were great.
