I visited sint Oederode in August. Nice houses around and some shops nearby. Very nice park nearby for a walk around the water. Animals for the kids in the centre.

This is a nice museum around operation Market Garden. There's a Bailey bridge, a Spitfire, a Dakota (I think), a V1, artillery, and other large vehicles. There's a movie showing the para droppings and displays with different uniforms of the different police units under German occupation. In the forest area around the museum, there are monuments to fallen Allied soldiers, Joe Mann and Robert Cole.

If you look for a day of relaxation in a natural atmosphere close to Eindhoven, Thermae Son is still the place to be. It has all facilities you can think of under one roof. Thermae of course like all sportschool of sauna's, with special herbal treatments. Beauty salon, hairdresser, massage facilities, fitness club, swimmingpool, a brasserie, childcare. We went to the Thermae. Arrived at two in the afternoon and left around Nine in the evening, totally relaxed. There is a nice garden with high trees, like in a forest. The sun was shining. The herbal sauna was a sensation.
Staff was very friendly, the food < we had a salade> very tasty!
We surely will return.

The zoo was absolutely fantastic. Such close encounters with the animals. We had a trailer for the kids to pull them around, as the park is very big. But always something to see with every step you take. We also had food here too which was also good. Very clean restaurant. A lot of work going on improving the park. Very good day out.

Net open, Gouden Woud in Liempde.

Escape Room Veghel is an exciting real life experience at the Noordkade in Veghel. Step back in time at this historical location, founded in 1915, and you will descend to an old factory chamber. Locked up in this chamber with a maximum of eight participants, you’ll have 60 minutes to solve the mystery that dominates this factory as real detectives...
Voor mij en mijn schoonmoeder was dit de eerste keer in een escape room mijn vriendin heeft dit al wel vaker gedaan. Was erg leuk, leuke uitdagingen en opdrachten. Voor zowel een beginner als een gevorderde! Aanrader!

Bottle Distillery artisanally prepares gin, bierbrand, vodka and liqueurs on a small-scale. The distillery is located in the center of Eindhoven, in the old 'Schellensfabriek'. You are very welcome to come and meet our potstill with its copper helmet. In our tasting room you can try our products: pure or in one of our specially selected mixes. There is a little shop where you can buy our products. You can arrange a visit, tour, tasting or workshop on any day and time. Just mail or call us for an appointment. On Fridays and Saturdays the distillery, tasting room and shop is also open without appointment, from 13.00 till 22.00 hours
Booked the basic tour which cost around €11. We were given a brief introduction as to how Bottle Distillery was born. The distillery was set-up and is run by a lovely couple who have a passion for what they do. Mark and his wife have created a unique attraction that is part-distillery and part-bar. The 'still' is the most beautiful piece of aparatus and is captivating to watch as you get a talk on how it all works. Really amazing piece of kit! But the proof is in the pudding, which brings us to the product which comes out of the still. They produce a selection of gorgeous Gins (the Winter Gin being my personal favorite. So much flavor!). The Beer Brandy and liqueurs are amazing. The tour included a tasting of any 3 from their product line, which we felt was generous. The tour stated 30 minutes, but we spent a total of 90 minutes with a lovely Gin & Tonic beforehand and sipping the samples after the tour. Wonderful establishment and I'd highly recommend. Easily the best €11 I've ever spent. Looking forward to seeing Orion Gin in the UK in a few years ;) Keep up the good work guys!

The Museum of Prehistory (Oertijdmuseum) in Boxtel is the Netherlands’ largest geology museum. Here, you will learn all about prehistoric times and can walk among life-size dinosaurs and other extinct species! The remarkable fossils on display take you back ages, while the lovely Prehistory Garden (Oertijdtuin) offers ‘living fossils’ and also plenty of amazing trees and bushes. Add to this the playground and exciting Prehistoric Forest (Oertijdwoud), and this educational museum is a fantastic day out for families with children aged between 4 and 12. As one of our young explorers put it: “We’ve had another great day here, plenty to see and do!” A modern way of experiencing the past Open from 10:00 to 17:00 Tuesdays to Sundays, this museum offers several special packages for children’s parties and also lays on up-to-the-moment themed evenings. Although this is a museum all about things from a very long time ago, visitors can have a surprisingly modern experience here by turning up for a Pokémon Go evening, when they can use the DinohunterBoxtel app to hunt dinosaurs through the village of Boxtel! The museum is the pride and joy of the village and this augmented reality dinosaur hunt is the perfect way to appeal to 21st-century explorers. Something else this museum has to offer is fun scavenger hunts. Country park The museum also houses the visitor centre for Het Groene Woud (The Green Forest), which is a country park in the triangle between ’s-Hertogenbosch, Tilburg and Eindhoven. Here, you can dive into history, hop on a bike for a gorgeous ride through the landscape, enjoy the authentic local produce, strike out on a hot-air balloon adventure or stay for one or more nights locally: there is so much to see and do between these cities. Museum shop and museum café The museum shop offers all kinds of fossils, gemstones, jewellery, books and cuddly toys, but also maps of walking routes and cycle paths through Het Groene Woud country park. Treat yourself to a snack or a drink in the museum café, and if you’ve worked up a real appetite after a day on the trail of the dinosaurs or building your own wooden dinosaur, the multilingual museum staff will be glad to direct you to any of the several atmospheric cafés or pancake restaurants in the locality.
The museum has an indoor and an outdoor part. In the indoor part the focus is mainly on dinosaurs. There are many informative (interactive) displays and very realistic dinosaur statues and skeletons. Especially the large glass conservatory is impressive: you walk close to the ceiling of the building allowing you to observe various huge and smaller dinosaur skeletons. The indoor part takes about 1 hour to complete. Outdoor you have the combination of an arboretum, many life-size dinosaur statues and a small playground. The mapped out walk through the wood with many dinosaur statues was a nice extra. The outdoor part takes about 90 minutes to complete. There is also a shop inside. Don't forget your camera. Highly recommended.

Richly decorated rooms, good explanations by the guide, interesting history, good protection against witches. The art is alright. Frederik Hendrik conquered the castle in preparation for his successful and important siege of Den Bosch. Louis XIV is said to have stayed in this castle during his invasion of the Netherlands. As good as it gets for a Dutch castle (you can't expect it to be on top of a prominent mountain). A drawback is that the bus passes by only once per hour in the weekend, and I noticed it can be up to 15 minutes delayed (causing me to miss one).

The 'Gasthuishoeve'is a proud representative of the region "Het Groene Woud" ('the green forest'). We like to invite everyone to experience the local grown plants and trees, crafts, animals or historic. Walk through the Mediterranean garden as inspiration for your conservatory or Terrace. In the lunchroom is a varied menu where the use of local produce is important. Meanwhile children can enjoy themselves in one of our Playgrounds, inside or out.
