In wintertime, lovely Seefeld in Tirol channels the fairytale magic of a Christmas village. Located on a plateau amid mountains and valleys, it’s an ideal place for snow sports, particularly cross-country skiing. In fact, several Olympic and World Championship competitions have been held here. Off-season, the crisp mountain air and epic views make for excellent alpine hiking. When you’re ready for refreshment, you can’t go wrong with schnitzel and a local beer at one of the area’s charming restaurants.

A great day out for walkers and skiers alike. Take funicular to the mid station and enjoy stunning views across the valley. The hutte sells a nice variety of meals. Highly recommended!

Seekirchl in the austrian alps is a very perfect picturesque setting. A landmark in this Olympic region of Tirol, at the western entrance to Seefeld, and visible from far away.
The Seekirchl church is the town’s most famous landmark. Construction on the octagonal Baroque structure began in 1628 and the church was consecrated in 1666.
The spiritual centrepiece is the cross on the main altar to which the construction of the church is attributable. There are reports of two events from the period when the cross still stood out in the open, the first of which claims that a pilgrim, in a state of deep repentance, was absolved from her sins through clear words spoken by the cross in front of which she had prayed.
The second event that led to the construction of the church was the occasion when Archduke Leopold V who, when passing the miraculous cross for the first time, was so moved by the sight of it, that he requested a priest be brought so he could confess his sins and he immediately pledged to erect a chapel in which to house the cross. He fulfilled this pledge by building the first Seekirchl chapel. The two events are depicted on the wall frescoes on the right and left hand sides.

Wonderful church in the centre of town. Fantastic entrance doors, lovely interior with a tale about a hole near the alter some greedy bloke sank into etc etc! Go sit and contemplate for 10 minutes. Make sure you give some euros on the way out and get a lovely candle holder to remember your trip and help the church at the same time.

O.K. I did not spend much time in the casino ( impressive though ) I mooved on to the Sigloo bar next door, ( A glass igloo ) Packed full of people from around the World, with live music by Siggi himself Packed to capacity of about 50 people, with a joyous atmosphere. The leisure centre and pool ( indoor and outdoor ) is fantastically designed, The skiing is easy, the shops are great quality, and the architecture really nice (lots of wood ) If you want a romantic weekend this is the place to visit (not far from Garmisch ) Beautifull...

A very memorable late afternoon/early evening excursion on our winter holiday in Seefeld, organised through Inghams. The small group met in the centre of Seefeld and walked to the alpaca farm, accompanied by the Inghams rep. On arrival, we were welcomed by the farm owner, shown the alpacas, and given a very informative talk by the owner (who speaks good English) about their origins and habits. We were then introduced to some of the individual alpacas, and chose ones to take for a walk! This was a magical walk through the forest in the snow, with the alpacas on leads and following each other, as the light faded in the evening. On arrival back at the farm, we were offered a choice of mulled wine or non-alcoholic punch, before walking back to Seefeld. (We had the non-alcoholic punch which was delicious.)

The kids (aged 4-16) loved it here. There was loads to do. An outdoor pool for the little one alongside a beautiful lake where our older children were jumping off the jetty for a swim. They also enjoyed paddle boarding and taking out the rowing boats. The scenery was beautiful and perfect for a family day out. The ducks would swim up to the shore and the water was so clear you could see many fish. Our kids voted this as their favourite place. There is a very small entry charge but its worth it as the place is so clean and well kept and you can stay all day. There is a cafe there too so no need to worry about lunch. Take towels and sun cream!

We spent 3 days skiing over half term. We booked 2hrs each day having private tuition, one instructor for my Husband and myself and one for our 3 children.
Walter was our children's instructor and he was great. Perfect with the children. My Daughter has an issue with her legs and we were very concerned about how this could impact on her enjoyment. Walter could not have been more understanding. We will definitely request him again next year!
Roman was the instructor for myself and my Husband. His approach was firm. We felt our skiing improved over the 3 days by his style which was very much 'back to basics'.
We booked via email. We called a few days before to clarify the situation re ski passes, hire etc and the lady was not terribly helpful.
When we arrived at the office to pay the balance for the lessons, the lady in the office was not very welcoming. I always find it quite aggravating when you walk towards someone at a desk and they continue what they are doing, making you wait until they have finished! Not the friendliest!
I am giving 5 stars as a rating for the individual instructors (sort out your customer service!)

At the top of the Rosshutte funicular, it is very worth while continuing up the Seefelderjoch Bahn. This is a small cable car, 12 persons, that takes you to a height of 2060 metres. It is advisable to wear footwear with a good grip on the soles. For a lot of the year, there is snow on the ground. Walking poles can also be useful. A short walk from the top of the cable car is a Panorama showing the directions of the Mountains and the cities of the world. In the Summer it is possible to walk a bit further to the summit of the Seefelderspitze at 2221 metres. The views are extensive down towards Italy and up to Germany. Choose a day with nice weather and no wind.
