A fantastic trekking holiday through outstanding scenery. Pre departure information was good. All transfers and accomodation were very good. Our guide was friendly, professional and knowledgable, ensuring all the logistics of the trek went smoothly. My friends and I really had a feeling that there was a commitment from the guide, support crew and accomodation providers to give us the best experience possible. A fantastic mountain landscape to trek through. We were a bit unlucky with a couple of rainy days but you can get that on any mountain trek.

Via Ferrata Ari

My guide gezim also called jim is an amazing guy. Definitely would recommend doing a via feratta with him. I couldnt have imagined a better guide for my first via feratta. Not just could he respond all my question regarding climbing but also did he build up a personal relationship in being interested in my life. We shared some life experiences and stories and had just a fun time. After all we were hanging out a little bit at the river and he offered me to sleep at his house or to drive me anywhere which was really great of him. In the end he organized me a hitchhike to a village 25km far away. This is just a little story of how helpful and gentle he is. Really nice is that he really loves doing what be does. So dont wait and come to this amazing region and do some climbing in peja region which is a pretty amazing and beautiful place.
Cheers marcel

Visoki Decani Monastery

Dating back to the 14th century, this is the best-preserved Serbian monastery that represents an exceptional synthesis of Byzantine and Western medieval styles.

From the entrance, guarded by NATO troops, this place is special. Once on the monastery grounds you'll see the beautiful and very well preserved church made with local stones. However, the inside will leave you speechless. It's a magnificent orthodox church adorned in the traditional style with frescoes. We were allowed to enter as the service was ending and the choir was still performing. Even without being religious you could feel something special. On top of the beauty, the monks were incredibly accessible and along with a student, explained almost every single fresco and every part of the symbols and elements so important in an Orthodox church.
I cannot say enough how amazing this place is. I'm glad it's well protected and I hope it continues to be. It must be preserved. Kosovars are lucky to have such a magical site in their country. For me this is the must see attraction in Kosovo.

Knowing this was UNESCO we were still awed by this site. Easy walk from Pec mostly sidewalk. Walk through orchards along the drin to this very impressive frescoes group of small churches. The nuns gathered in the flowered courtyard were very friendly and have many of their products available walnuts, honey, brandy. Super cool-thanks. Don't forget to bring your passport.

Old Bazaar of Peja

Reviewed By emfromsydney - Sydney, Australia

Peja has markets everyday but on Saturdays they are larger with more fresh produce, local handicrafts and locally made cheese brought in on Saturdays in giant wooden barrels, paint buckets and any other storage vessels to be creatively used. Homemade yogurt is also available. The cheese is usually goat's or sheep's cheese. Wooden crafts are also worth buying. The markets are very busy in the morning but that's the best time to go.

Sleeping beauty Cave

We found out about this cave after visiting Drini waterfall. They are not always open, but if you call ahead, you can make a reservation or to do caving. I have never had a private tour of a cave and although it's new, I was impressed with how knowledgable the guide was. The bats are not shy and I have never seen so many in my life. Really enjoyed this cave and hope to visit again. Recommend for any adventure lover!

Ethnological Museum

Reviewed By emfromsydney - Sydney, Australia

Allow about 30 minutes to visit the Ethnological Museum. A great example of traditional home architecture, culture, cooking utensils, family structures, traditional dress, weapons and musical instruments. My guide did not speak English but her daughter, Andula, who is about 10 years old has taught herself English and did a fabulous job translating with great enthusiasm. Entry costs 1 euro. Best to stop by in the late morning or early afternoon as they may open late or close early on selected days. Worth a visit.
