Established in the Himalaya foothills by a British Army officer in 1820, the "Queen of the Hills" stands above the rest with its deep woods, favorable climate and Doon Valley views. Its name is derived from the berry-covered Mansur shrub found in abundance around this trekker-friendly area. Vestiges of its colonial past are still reflected in the cuisine and architecture. For stunning natural sights, head to Gun Hill or Childer's Lodge, the two highest peaks, or the famous Kempty waterfall.

This place is full of positive vibes. A big salute to the couple who manages this place out of their own resources. They have a small temple there which is also nice. Small place but well maintained and good collection. They also help the local...MoreThanks Friend.?

The Tibetan Buddhist temple is the famous tourist destination and is known for its beautiful architecture, impressive interiors and peaceful environment. The wall paintings inside the temple shows the life of Lord Buddha. It is an imitation of a Tibetan Monastery to preserve and promote Tibetan culture in India. It is built in a Japanese architectural style. The temple contains statues of Buddha and ethereal wall paintings. The temple also has an open air viewing platform from where you can enjoy the view of Dehradun. So it attracts the visitors to come here.

Camel's Back Road is a narrow road off Mall Road in Mussoorie. It does not have much traffic or activity and is decent for a 2-3 km warm. It is far better than walking on Mall Road. It offers good views but does not compare with the peace and scenery in Landour.

A mall temple uniquely located facing the western Mountains. You turn left on entering the temple grounds and are thereby invited to rotate the assembly of Prayer Wheels. I was so lucky on exiting this section to hear the older monks begin chanting. We went around to the front, off footwear and entered inside. Wow what a spey gift. The views around the temple including of course the Valley s below was worth the visit alone. Looking North you can see the 100 ' s of Prayer Flags.

I think this place is a bit hyped. A beautiful lace to trek or just go and have some good moments with your loved ones but when we are talking about Uttarakhand and specially about Mussoorie then i feel this place have been over emphasized. No doubt the view is mezmerizing and cold breeze will blow your mind. May be here i am bit skeptic because after been here in doon for almost an year and a half i have seen places which are far more beautiful than this but not at all crowded. This place is crowded which i do not like.

The Jabarkhet Wildlife Reserve is indeed one of those wonderful success stories wherein a group of people (Villagers and Environmentalists)set out to recover, to protect a small piece of the forested land in this area. In so doing it was hoped the vegetation that the birds and animals depended on would recover and hopefully the animals, large and small would return. That is what has happened. We were fortunate to view some of the love camera clips taken at night showing the Leopards, for example moving into, and about the area. The local villagers have actively participated, e.g. bringing waters for miles up and down the mountain paths to the various water holes that were set up. Today you can catch a guide and walk along the trails (there are a number — short and long), be in this wonderful space and see Mother Nature returning in all Her Glory. A very Definite Recommended space. See their web site (use Dr. Google ) for location et cetera.

There is nothing much for elders except clicking pictures in traditional clothes. This is the best spot to click pictures in natural surroundings instead of an artificial background. There are a lot of activities for children though. So a good place for families with kids. Average for adults.
