Dehradun (/ˌdɛrəˈduːn/) or Dehra Dun (Garhwali: देरादूण) is the interim capital city of Uttarakhand, a state in the northern part of India. Located in the Garhwal region, it lies 236 kilometres (147 mi) north of India's capital New Delhi and 168 kilometres (104 mi) from Chandigarh. It is one of the "Counter Magnets" of the National Capital Region (NCR) being developed as an alternative centre of growth to help ease the migration and population explosion in the Delhi metropolitan area and to establish a smart city at Dehradun. During the days of British Raj, the official name of the town was Dehra.

Highly overrated but still a decent bakery in Dehradun. They are famous for their stick jaw toffees which is available in two flavours- Plain and Chocolate. They also have a wide range of freshly baked cakes and biscuits. Nothing spectacular but still for old times sake, good for one trip. One of the two shops, advertised as original shop has small Seating section where you can order patties, slush , pastries.

Situated on the rajpur road, this place is quite famous in Dehradun. The restaurant offers great view of the Mountains and the doon valley.
The interiors are beautifully done and has ample of place to sit. When I visited during lunch time, it was almost 50% occupied (weekday) which is pretty good.
I ordered a mango soda based drink and mutton momos. They took some time to prepare , but it was too good. They serve you 8 pieces in one plate. It was very soft, well cooked.
It is moderately priced. Service levels can certainly go up. Overall had a great time and I am certain to visit the place again whenever I am in town.

In the twisting turning bylanes of Dehradun's Dalanwala is the blue and white (almost santorini-esque) eatery Razzmataz. It doesn't call itself a restaurant, and it would be wrong to call it a cafe. So... eatery.
The environs are great - a cosy indoor Seating with four tables, made to put you in the comfort of your own living room; and an outdoor Seating in for those who love the warm winter sun. There's also a spa and a home wares outlet (but we won't get into that). It's a refreshing change to the eyes this place.
But my palette would disagree. It's great if you're a big boistrous group who doesn't care about what is being served as long as it is being served - no matter how much time it takes.
The service is slow. For us it was a loooooooong wait. The pancakes took for ever and tasted like instamix ones - and for some reason they forgot to serve the sliced bananas that were supposed to accompany the cake (and later said that they don't serve it anyways).
To my chagrin I ordered a Pad Thai, and it was aweful to say the least. Salty, extremely peanutty (believe me EXTREMELY) and the chicken was lost somewhere in between that and the rice. The pasta (which should be your go to dish) was a saviour, with a generous portion and a creamy white sauce. Another was the fried rice which, although elementary, tasted great.
They do have an array of mocktails and shakes to order, tried the Virgin Mojito and it was good.
A meal for four was barely ₹1600/-
Recommended for those who don't mind waiting (a long time) and suggested you stick to tea, coffee and a quick nibble.

Ellora Bakery is one of the oldest and renowned bakery in Dehradun which is more famous among people living in metros and abroad. The cake rusk, the variety of biscuits etc add charm to your bakery products list and the list goes on. hope they keep on giving the taste and variety for decades to come.

This place like other bakeries of Dehradun has a wide choice of biscuits, breads and other confectionery. The taste of biscuits and other material was good and what I found different was the ingredients differ in each type of biscuit.Further this place also has a small restaurant offering some good quality snacks. The only disappointing factor is its location which is not on the main road.Otherwise it is another jewel in the crown of bakery in Dehradun.

This restaurant invites you to enjoy a cuisine's ethnicity irrespective of boundaries. At Malabar, Dehradun, we bring to you the renowned flavors of Kerala and from the wide and varied coasts of India. Treat yourself to an exotic spicey voyage amidst a glorious ambience of The Himalayas at its finest.
Our friends had mentioned about this restaurant. They also have a hotel, but we only went in for a meal. The food was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The lady owner cooks the food herself so it is authentic, kerala home cooking. Enjoyed every bite of it. We ordered appams and stew, chicken chettinad and malabar paratha and a masala dosa. Everything was just wonderful.
