Reaching this waterfall requires a trek of ~1.5kms into the forest which includes crossing small streams thrice, so one has to be a little careful when travelling with elders and children. Also, the falls are located ~10kms from main Mukteshwar area and must be visited during daytime because it starts getting dark around 5pm. Even after crossing the 3 streams, few more steep rocks have to be crossed to ultimately reach the falls which is a tiresome task in itself. Various varieties of birds can also be seen here, so worth a visit if time permits.

One of the most peaceful religious places one can visit. Surprisingly there are no hawkers around. A nice climb up to the different levels. I try to visit this Dham whenever I'm in the area. Definitely worth a visit.

Recently taken over by KMVN, it has royal bedded and higher class rooms which are recently renovated and are perfectly kept with grand view of the mighty Himalayas. Again, food is an issue (average only), as the cooks are the same that serve the KMVN. Service is great. Food needs improvement.

Indian veterinary research institute is responsible for carrying out high end research in animal nutrition, genetics and bacteriology. The campus is spread in a large area and British architecture is reflected in all its buildings. A library and a veterinary museum are other popular attractions of the site, which reveals historic events to the travelers. Apart from this there is not as such to visit until and unless you are veterinary or research lover. The interiors are prohibited to public but you can ask for permission.

Choco-House Chocolate shop has become a big attraction for tourists visiting Mukteshwar because it is the only shop in the region which sells Hand Made Center Filled European Chocolates, Delicious Chocolate Brownies & Fudges. The chocolates are sold loose as well as in hand crafted gift boxes which are great souvenirs. The Chocolate shop is owned and managed by Mountain Trail Resort.
Good chocolate shop at unusual place, good quality and authentic Belgian chocolate. A bit expensive but keeping into mind the logistics involved one can indulge.Thank you for your review. Most of the the Ingredients being of Imported Origin, the prices seem such. However if you compare our prices with the famous brands using the same ingredients you shall comparatively find it very reasonable.

Mukteshwar town gets its name from this ancient temple, located at the highest point in the vicinity(2300 meters).
The temple complex is neat and clean and offers serenity to the restless city souls. You get to see the majestic view of Nanda Devi and other peaks from here.Almora town towards north and Nainital towards west look tiny from here.
Must visit and have a little chat with pandit ji,incase he is in a mood to chat.

Very old temple located right on top of the hill overlooking entire valley offers fantastic view of Himalayan Mountains. Though it is bit of a climb, but worth a visit if visiting Mukteshwar Town.

I chose to arrive in Mukteshwar in morning from Delhi, have breakfast with friends and then trek to Maheshkhan (5 hours) with a camp stay in Maheshkhan.. Mukteshwar tents are nice and clean and present nice views.. there are plenty of activities such as trekking, hiking etc. The bathrooms are clean.. the cottages are at different levels and thus provide some kind of privacy.. there is only natural light and the camp operators provide you lanterns in the night- so it is a unique experience.. I loved the central eating area... the food also is nice.. most of all, the attitude of the camp operators is warm and pleasant...
