Thank You all for you're comments about Pulo do Lobo, we couldn't find and yet, we got lost and ended up right on the top where you can feel the endless wild. Will return for sure and recomend it to whom loves this enviroment, animals and trees.

We found Mertola to be a particularly unwelcoming town. Don't bother trying to buy anything while there. The owner of the main cafe is surly and appears to really dislike tourists. The castle is free (except for a minuscule museum) and offers a tremendous view over the valley. You can really get a feel for how this used to be an important town.
I guess that list glory is what infects the people here. Not even the folks in Turismo seemed to care that we were visiting their town. This was in such stark contrast to our experiences elsewhere in Portugal that it is noteworthy.
Long story short, if you have an extra hour, drop by. Stick to the free stuff & move on...

The chapel was located on a slope with cobbled stone pavement. It was accessible by car, there were a few parking spaces just outside. The chapel was very small, simple and pretty inside and outside. Free entry.

This is not an easy site to find. It is not well-marked. However, it is worth finding. I really enjoyed trying to imagine what it would have been like to be in this church in 500 A.D. Reading the funeral inscriptions was fascinating and finding out that what you can see is just the tip of the iceberg was a learning experience.

It is actually more impressive from down along the river than it is from up beside it. While it is not "spectacular", it just adds something special to an already special town.

Circuit of museums spaces very well structured. Map with the identification of all spaces. In just 2 places, we paied the symbolic entrance of 2 € per person. Apparently, exist audioguide for the tour but they were not available.

It was interesting seeing the layout of a typical Moorish tradesman's house in the reconstruction. The ruins of the settlement were well explained and gave a good impression of how the village was laid out in Moorish times. The archeological exploration is still ongoing and the site is increasing. Entry is free.

I Like watching the weavers and how they used some of the historic patterns in a modern manner. It only takes a few minutes to visit and some of my friends purchased a blanket. Caveat: You could not use a charge card.
