I could spend hours in here, especially in the small park within a park that is dedicated to liu Zhongyuan (A.D.773-819) who was magistrate and later, governor of Liuzhou. He was most famous for working to free women from being bonded slaves. As well as zig-zag walkways, quiet pavilions and moon-shaped Bridges in the public area, there is also a smaller Chinese private garden with a [Yen]30 entrance fee. Here among the 300 year old bonsai, the bamboo walkways and the misting waters, I could easily spend the whole day Reading and writing. On the outside entrance, there is a small lake where locals enjoy feeding the thousands of hungry koi.

Ma'anshan Park is a small free local park by downtown. It's near the Liujiang River. Good for climbing. The peak of Ma'anshan hill is one of the best place to overlook the skyline of Liuzhou city, particularly at night.

I enjoyed the cable car up to the peak (40 RMB one way - 50RMB return) and noticed that no cars had the number four on them as this is a very unlucky number in China, they jumped straight from 3 to 5, and then 13 to 15 etc. Amazing views of the city but very steep steps at the top. I di not think much of the other attractions such as the Liu San Jie cave or the Ho Chi Minh museum outside though.

The old gate and wall for Liuzhou is easy to get to and see. The little park out in front by the river is very nice and it's fun to watch the people who gather there under the huge trees. Also the walk from the city center to the wall and gate is an easy one to make. I love the old gate!

A lot of people in Liuzhou like to take strolsl next to the river after dinner or run along its banks. The city has spent a a large sum of money in recent years to install lighting and artificial Waterfalls to beatify the riverbanks. The lights go on around dusk during the summer and last until late evening.
It's definitely worth going once if you plan on being in Liuzhou. Be sure to bring some insect repellant if you are prone to being bit (as I am) and bring a few friends or family.

Queshan Park is one of my favorate local parks in Liuzhou. It's multipurposed. Good for hiking, running, climbing and fishing. There are also some small amusement parks inside for kids. Very good place for relaxing.

I like some of these viewing stones even more that I like bonsai, and the viewing stone market in Luizhou is a great place to see them. Most years there is an international stone festival held here.
The market is interesting to wander around for half an hour but i was particularly impressed by one gallery at the front, where they had some really beautiful examples at crazy prices. "Gao Jian Shang Shi Hui Sho ([tel] 13978067895"

A very small local park. Yufeng Butte is in the park. Good for climbing and overlook the city. It's very crowded in the daytime. To the north, you'll find the former residence of Hu Zhiming.
