Kretinga Museum

A palace of the once rich and famous aristocracy of Lithuania; the encapsulating glass Orangery provides for a mini rain forest – amazing!
Whilst the building is a popular venue for weddings, with its own private Civil Wedding Licence, it also offers restaurant facilities surrounding an almost tropical encrusted rock-face rain forest – this can only be described as the largest Orangery I have ever seen!
Besides the natural Orangery/Rain Forest features, the building is steeped in ancient aristocratic history of the rich and famous belonging to the same family for centuries.
Any Trip Advisor visiting the area in Lithuania close to the Baltic coast this has to be at the top of your list for at least one day out, enjoying either afternoon tea or a meal whilst visiting the Orangery and the grounds.

Nice place if you are coming to Kretinga. There are 13 wood sculptures each simbolizing different event or festive. Unfortunately not much information in other languages than lithuanian. Nice park around with three ponds, well maintained paths and the famous Winter garden is several hundred meters away. Around solar clock there are lots of green grass, benches and it is famous place for meeting with friends in Kretinga.

Evangelical Lutheran Church

Reviewed By Kevin P - Salina, Kansas

This tiny Lutheran church serves this small community. We visited with the pastor who told us there are 5 regular families here (about 20 persons). It's a beautiful little community. Winters here must be tough. The carved tree at the front of the property is very interesting.
