The malls have an extensive range of leather products. The malls are clean and well organized. There are hundreds of shops selling leather products, all at good prices. It is well worth a visit.

This is a little lake with a little boat, a little building with a little of communist party history. Nothing much fancy. I went there a lot as a child, just because it is a historical site for the first Chinese communist party's national meeting. It used to be better since the water quality were, now, just not worth too much. However, Jiaxing the city is an interesting medium size economic blooming place.

We did not go for the annual event, which I'm sure would have been interesting, but maybe too crowded. We went on a full moon day, but the wave was small, although it was interesting that it moved sideways, not coming in to shore like a regular wave. I grew up in southern California, so am used to seeing big waves. This was quite small. I don't know if there was a charge because it was part of a tour we went on outside of Haining.

I use to drive bicycle to NanBei lake from Haining city. Lake is located between the hills near to coast. It is laid-back area with less tourist. You can just walk around the lake, visit small island in the middle or rent a boat. Local people selling souvenirs and fruits. If you cannot speak basic Chinese you will have problem to order a meal in restaurants as they do not have English menu or menu with pictures. From the hills above is nice view of lake and from eastern hill you can see Hangzhou bay. I have never met a foreigner there, it is really not a known attraction. And actually not worth for visit as there are plenty of others in China.

I arrived on bicycle from Haining city, drove direction south on #203 Provincial road, which leads to Wengjin road along river bank. Through the first small village between Wengjin rd and river drove to the levee of Qiantang river. A couple of steps up to the levee and I could see endless Qiantang river. It was sunny day, without wind so river looked very tranquil, no waves at all. Suddenly, on horizon a white line of the tidal wave appeared and soon a sound of rolling water could be heard and noise was increasing as wave was approaching. At the end the massive tidal wave crashed with river bank and wall of water splashed the coast. After that Qiantang river waters were darker, muddy and violent as waves bounced back to river.
Very impressive to see such power of nature.

this huge house and garden started in late ming dynasty, after chen yuanlong became the prime mister in later qing dynasty, the compound was expanded and uplifted to match the official's status. the remaining parts of the compound still occupied 4700+sqm with 1100sqm in buildings. a very example of ancient Chinese garden homes with extensive woodworks, rocks and plants of the rich and the powerful.
local folklore was created to make believe that this chen gelao was indeed the birth father of emperor Qianlong who was switched at birth with a royal daughter. the whole thing was based on the fact that Qianlong indeed was very fond of this area and showed special favor to the chen family.

正如我轻轻的来;
是夕阳中的新娘;
油油的在水底招摇;
不是清泉,是天上虹;
向青草更青处漫溯;
悄悄是别离的笙箫;
正如我悄悄的来;
