Port Grimaud is a picturesque seaside town, it is a mixture of France and Italy. This seaside town was created by architect François Spoerry in the 1960s by modifying the marshes of the river Giscle on the bay of Saint-Tropez.
Built with channels in a Venetian manner, but with French "Fishermans" style houses resembling those in Saint-Tropez.
This little town is surrounded by pastel buildings and little canals. Even though it is small it is very charming, with small boutiques and coffee shops dotted around town. Apart from walking, you can also go on boat rides around the canals to explore the town.
Honestly I could have stayed there the whole day just wondering and exploring this small town. There are plenty of instagrammable spots there, I just wished I could have spent more time there.

Welcome at Grimaud Castle ! We hope you'll enjoy your visit in this monument ! Let a comment to say what you think about it !
Its worth the climb through the ruins of Grimaud castle to the summit just for the views of the surrounding countryside, although this is a tall order on a hot Summer's day ! although the ruins are impressive, there isn't much by way of historical info posted on signs throughout the castle

Welcome to The Church St Michael in Grimaud. The first traces of the Church appear in 1069. Inside, the decor goes back from the nineteenth century. In early 2015, an organ was installed in the Church that welcomes Musical Evenings of Grimaud : classic music concert.
Simple 11th century church, beautifully maintained with a superb new 2015 organ of imaginative design. The tiny windows contain excellent modern glass. There are frequent Concerts in the summer that are well worth making an effort to attend.Thank you for your comment about the church. We are pleased that you enjoyed the visit. See you soon in Grimaud !

The Bridge of the Fairies is an ancient aqueduct that brought water to the village. The river that flows here is "La Garde". This bridge is located in the countryside, on one of the trails offered to stroll in full Grimaudoise flora and fauna.
Visit here often and am always overwhelmed by the view. Worth the hard walk down and recommend you wear suitable shoes. No water in river this year but have swam init in other years.Dont try it if you have any problems with walking etc.Hello, thank you for your nice comment. We are plased you enjoyed the walk. This year is very dry here... Maybe come back in autumn ? ;) Grimaud Tourisme

I am not really a modernist and certainly not religious but I have been here many times over the 30 years I have been around the area. I never fail to be impressed . I just like the simplicity, the calm and the stained glass...MoreHi Andrew, thanks a lot for your nice comment. We're pleased you enjoyed Port Grimaud and all the area. See you soon for a 31 year ? ;) Grimaud Tourisme

The St Roch's Mill is open for the visit every 2 months with the Heritage & Culture service. You can visit all around the Mill, you will have an orientation table with a beautiful view on the Gulf of St Tropez.
It was a warm sunny day when we did the walk starting and ending at the mill. Not an easy walk but accessible for anyone with moderate mobility. Plenty of wildlife to see and the smells and views are to die for.Hello, we are pleased that you enjoyed the visit. See you soon in Grimaud :)

The Penitents Chapel is open all year with a free entrance. It dates from the fifteenth century. In 1790 it hosted the first municipal council of the village. It houses several statues and an altarpiece of the seventeenth century, revamped in October 2015.
This chapelle is near the cemetery, and can be seen from the ruins of the castle. It is a short stroll there, pleasant when it's not too hot.The Chapel near the cemetry is Chapel St Roch and not Penitents, but both are really nice to discover. We're happy you enjoyed the visit :) Best regards

The "Big Pine Beach" is not to miss, precisely because of this large pine that you see when arriving at the beach. Access to all our Beaches is free.
We were staying with Eurocamp at Domaine Des Naiades and after having a brief look at the other Beaches in the area, never went anywhere else. It is immaculately clean, has a lifeguard in attendance, and the views across the bay are wonderful.
We were (just) out of season but even if we had not been we would have simply left earlier in order to grab a parking spot. We have already booked a holiday at the same place and, to be perfectly honest, the Plage du Gros Pin is one of the reasons we will be returning.
