We chose a snowy day to visit this delightful museum and it was well worth the trip. If you have children they would enjoy it too but it is also appropriate for adults. The displays were much more extensive than we expected and covers all of Great Yarmouth's history from the Romans, the herring industry and the Second World War. The recreation of the houses in an original street was particularly well done. Each room had lots of interesting bits and pieces which demonstrated the lifestyle of the typical occupants. Make sure you pick up a copy of the book which provides more information at the entrance to that area. We also enjoyed the audio guide which gives a lot of background information to the various exhibits. You need at least a couple of hours to listen to the audio guide and study the exhibits. We thought it was one of the best museums we have seen because it was very life like and you could relate to each scene and imagine how life was lived at that time. It was also very good value for money, we paid about £5.40 each which for entertainment for at least two hours was very reasonable.

When I was a wee lad the beach at Gorleston on sea was huge then erosion took place and sadly its size diminished substantially. However since the building of the Outer Harbour the Beach has returned in a big way, It is now every bit as large as it once was. Miles of soft Golden Sands. for all the family to enjoy with all the facilities close by to ensure this.

A lovely presentation of everything English in miniature - from the maypole to the slate mine - and our grandchildren were fascinated by the sights and sounds. I particularly liked the humour which presented itself in imaginative names of ficticious businesses.

I really liked this beach and we even saw a seal during our time here! Car park is £1 per hour. It is a lovely beach perfect for a winters walk. Near to food establishments and arcades too.

We were renting 1 coastguards cottage which had beach access from the back garden which was brilliant for us and our two aging retrievers. The beach is great with miles of walks available beit heading towards Gt Yarmouth or going the other way towards Hemsby and Winterton. Even out of season there was the Never Turn Back pub you could stop at for food and beverages and in season I'm sure there are many more options. Lovely beach in a lovely area of Norfolk.

I have been going to greyhound racing for many years all over the country. This track is first class in every way, enjoyment for all the family great food all types fast food or a sit down meal in the restaurant. A great night out well worth a visit.

Last night two friends and I came to the theatre for the Jersey Boys performance Bye Bye Baby. The music was fantastic, the performance was incredible. I'm not the sort of person that usually enjoys being around lots of people, but last night was amazing. I couldn't have asked for more. I'm already planning my next trip!

This place holds fond memories from my childhood and I am delighted that it is still open and that my own children enjoy the rides here. Snail ride is obviously the best, but special mentions to the space cars, Neptune's kingdom and the spinning tubs. Great value and perfect for smaller children.

Just across the busy road from the Elizabeathan House on Yarmouth,s South Quay is moored the former steam drifter the 'Lydia Eva'.It is a relic of the 1920s when Yarmouth was one of the country's premier herring fishing ports. The tour is short and the entrance free but it is hoped that will leave a small donation.
Well worth half an hour of your time!
