Beautiful museum. Entrance is 8TL. Easy to find although taking a taxi is just easier and there are taxis waiting outside. I would suggest at least 2 hours to walk around and appreciate the art works, you can hire the headphones for extra info. The gypsy girl is amazing take time there to appreciate it. Wheelchair and park accessible . Some staff speak basic English

Gaziantep Rumkale Gaziantep ilinin Yavuzeli ilçesinde kasaba köyünün yakınında bulunur Rumkale. Gaziantep’in şehir merkezine Yavuzeli ilçesinden uzak. Merzimen çayını Fırat nehrinin birleştiği noktada dik kayalıkların üzerindedir. Rumkale kasaba köyünün ve Halfetiden ulaşımı ise teknelerle çok kolay bir şekilde olabilir. Antik dönemden bulunduğumuz zamana kadar Şitamrat, Kal-a Rhomayta, Hromklay, Ranculat, Kal-at el Rum, Kal-at el Müslimin, Kale-i Zerrin (Altın Kale) ve en sonunda Rumkale gibi birçok değişik isimlerle adlandırılmıştır.
Unfortunately Rumkale is closed for renovation at the moment. Nevertheless when taking a boat ride from Halfeti one gets a very good view of the castle and its impressive location. Due to the dam the Euphrates water level is quite high and one can only imagine what strategic location the castle must have had in the past.

The zoo is really big. So, if you visit this place in a winter day like us don't forget your hand gloves and beret. Our doughter loved every moment of our family day in the zoo.

Undergoing Restoration. Closed to the public till the restoration is complete.
Only 15 minutes walk from the Hampton hotel where I stayed, this medieval castle sits on a hill overlooking the city.Unfortunately , there was no access to the top,but there is a museum portraying the history of the Turkish fight for independence against the British and French armies. I learned a lot from the panoramic displays, which have English translations.

There are way too many museums in Antep and very few of them are good. This one is among the moderately acceptable ones. It's about the traditional culinary culture of the city. It's quite small but informative. Yet, all the information is in Turkish, there are no explanations in English, so it hardly appeals to international tourists.
It takes around 30 minutes to visit it. In case you have time to spend, this museum might be interesting to visit.

This modern museum showcases superb mosaics unearthed at the Roman site of Belkıs-Zeugma before the Birecik Dam flooded most of the site forever. The second floor has excellent views of virtually complete floor mosaics retrieved from Roman villas, providing a detailed insight into past centuries. Other incredibly well-preserved highlights include the poignant Gypsy Girl and the Birth of Venus mosaics, and modern interactive technology also brings history to life in a compelling way.

Perhaps we're biased, but this is where I asked mi Amor to marry me. We both liked the place from the beginning, and like it even more now based on its significance. It's probably the #1 place in Gaziantep where you will see people taking wedding photos.
