I like to see the volcanoes, we were walking to the top and we had a picnic there, it was so good especially in a sunny day

We really enjoyed our visit to Puy-de-Dome. Took the train to the summit and once there the views are breathtaking. Had lunch in the cafe which was great, if a little crowded. Watched the paragliding and then back down on the train. Apart from that the exhibition in the entrance hall is really interesting and worth visiting. If you're in the area, this is a definite must-see!

As the smaller church (compared to the majestic Cathedrale Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption), it is a bit hard to locate. It took me asking a local passer-by to lead me to the right location. Unfortunately, I happened to be in town when the church is closed for outside visit, so I don't think I will be able to give it a fair grade.

Don't be put off by the dark volcanic rock exterior. The interior is made by some spectacular stained glass windows. The rise windows in the North and South Transepts are particularly noteworthy

L’Aventure Michelin: one place, one history, one future…Located in a completely renovated former workshop, l’Aventure Michelin is a scenographic journey of 2000 square meters which includes ten spaces with different atmospheres and contents dedicated to mobility. Thanks to an original and interactive scenography, you will discover the history, the present and the future of the Michelin Group. From the first detachable tire, to maps and guides, through the legendary Michelin Man (Bibendum) it is an exceptional universe that awaits you.
What else does one do in Clermont-Ferrand? The museum is large and traces the Michelin family and efforts all the way back to tires for bicycles. There is adequate time spent on the expansive history of Michelin including how the famous signs were developed as well as the Michelin guides. We were disappointed in the audio guides as it was difficult to know which number to use (confusion with audio guides and other tour information). You need to devote enough time to see it all. And it does take a while. We also found it difficult to find as our GPS lead us to another building up the street. The museum is across the street from the football field. Long live the Michelin Man!

Recently visit Claremont. We visited the park on the Sunday morning prior to returning to The UK. Lovely stroll with some interesting rare trees all labelled for those interested. Nice duck pond but overall nice way to blow out the cobwebs for a couple of hours

The Panoramique des Domes electric rack railway takes you on a journey to the top of the Chaine des Puys, and a landscape with constantly-changing colours and lights. Come and experience – or reexperience – this imposing natural location which is listed as a “Grand Site de France”, and which has undergone a refurbishment with preservation as its top priority.
The journey takes about 15mins and currently (beginning October) the electric cog train leaves every 40mins. The base station building appears modern but inside it's starting to look rather tired - especially the toilets. At the entrance there's a staffed tourist information desk, cafeteria and small exhibition area. Adult fares are 12.30e return although you can save 10% by booking in advance online - or you can of course walk to the top and back for free - good luck with that! There are two seats up alongside the driver but too small for two adults to sit comfortably but those in the main carriages have plenty of room - best views are on the left side going up and right side going down. On return you're routed via the mezzanine gift shop area but you can exit through the disabled barrier if you want to give it a miss. Unfortunately for us, although the top was clear when we parked the car it was covered in a heavy mist when we arrived and didn't disperse :-(

A great place to meet and start the day, lunch or evening. Plenty of shopping. Head to Place Victoire however for a wider range of cafes and bistros. Pretty quiet by day and a little livelier at night.

To stay in the city yet see what it looks like from the outside, this is the place to climb to.
The park gives you a lot of greenery to enjoy, a beautiful view over the city, and an even more inviting view to the surrounding hills and Mountains. I loved it.

I used to go there when I was young... and it's really and surprisingly a wonderful place! It's a perfect one for the nature lovers and those who practise sports (walkers, parapente, horse ridders etc). Then I often returned back some years after and it's still a kind of magic for me! There are lots of other attractions to do around this one. Just try once ... and share after your own feeling with me:)
