If your going to Pamporovo, take a day off and go here. Taxi is about 10 euro. It is a small resort but never busy. The slopes are never busy and range from green to black. It has the longest run in Bulgaria, and the reds are fast and testing. We are all experienced skiers and boarders and had a brilliant day. lift pass was 30 lev ( £13). No queues on the lift and a great wee restaurant on the right hand side coming down from the top just passed the old lift building. You can't miss it with the Barking dog tied to the tree. He's only looking for attention and someone to come pet him and he's harmless. Highly recommend it. And the ski resort...a wee gem

Not may runs not much snow just the man-made type, but there is Sun!!! resort entertainment very sparce and dotted in minute clusters around Pamporovo a kilometer from each other so its impossible to go around to where you wont and try different types of bars or restaurants unless you have a car or transport, cant walk around to dangerous on the roads no lighting no pavements to and from each cluster of bars or restaurants, quite pricey compared to villages 16klometers away were food is a third of the price, supper markets hike their prices by three times go to villages near by, waiters in Bulgeria seem to expect to get a TIP even when food and service are terrible when u don give they give u a bad look, Dont leave tips for a sake of leaving a tip make them learn to provide a service for it

I can't recommend Dimo and the team highly enough. The two 20 years old lads who came skiing with us had no experience skiing or snowboarding and after three days of lessons, they were confidently going down the red runs and enjoying themselves. SnowCamp Bulgaria offers to open-minded and adventurous people from all over the world to combine learning or practicing their favourite snow sports (skiing or snowboarding) with experiencing the local culture and atmosphere of the breath-taking Rhodope Mountains in southern Bulgaria.
The whole concept of snowcamp shifts away from the mainstream winter holiday. It is an excellent experience that combines winter sports with a range of activities to get to know the region and local traditions.
We had a great dinner with a bagpipe player dressed with traditional clothes. I particularly liked the attention paid to the homemade food products: red wine, rakia (Bulgarian spirit), white cheese, stuffed grape leaves, yogurt, blueberries jam, a fantastic honey and many others. The range of flavours we experienced was a real delight!!
The organisers are locals who know everything about traditions and food production and shared with us many interesting facts. You can really feel their strong attachment to the region and their desire to convey the beauty of the territory.
I would recommend snowcamp to anyone that is looking for something more than the usual winter vacation on the Mountains.

You can really only use this fun park if your a good skier/snowboarder because a lot of it is very big. I would massively recommend WEARING A HELMET because it saved my life.
If you want big jumps, rails, full size half-pipe. This is the place.
However there are not many jumps for beginners, but the runs are excellent for them.
I will be going back for a cheap snowboarding holiday.

Definitely worth a visit. I personally had never seen anything similar.
It's a natural wonder - huge and impressive. The walk is 10-15 min to see the site. Then you can go further down the hill or try to go on top. The views are breath-taking.
Try to get there during daytime as it's a remote location. There a restaurant nearby which remains open late afternoon (at least over the weekend).

STEVE Pamporovo offers Ski & Snowboard School in several languages ( including English,Russian,German and French). It also offers Ski and Snowboard equipment both to rent and buy. In its tea house you can enjoy a cup of tea from this very mountain.
They could not have been more helpful, they actually helped me in and out of boots on more than one occasion, they are a joy to spend time with.
I took a lesson with the lovely kind and understanding Steffi, she was patient and truly lovely, I'd recommend her most highly.

We visited the canyon beginning of June - turns out this was the best time for that since everything was fresh green and the river was full. The eco path goes along the riverbed where you can enjoy the views of tens of small and big Waterfalls - there were maybe four or five bigger ones, which took our breaths away. The wooden stairs and countless Bridges contribute greatly to the charm of this enchanting place. What was even more incredible were the views from above after the path went up to cross to the other side of the cliff. One can see Smolyan from each of the designated panoramic viewpoints. Throughout those three hours I constantly felt like being on Pandora from the movie Avatar - the experience was so fairy-tale like!
