Although often regarded as in London, Barking is just outside which is fortunate for customers at the Barking Dog who pay Weatherspoon's 'national' rather then 'London' prices.
A typical Weatherspoon's so you know what to expect for your money. Good value for money with a good choice of food and drinks.

We went for the early fixed price three course meal and it didn't disappoint. The sirloin steak was cooked perfectly, as was the vegetables.
After filling up with complimentary pitta bread and finishing the three course meal, I could barely move. The attentive service completed the pleasant experience and is a prime example of how a good restaurant should be run.

Big Moe's Diner has recreated the classic 50s-style American Diner. We offer authentic American diner food including burgers, steaks, hot dogs, and ribs. We also have amazing ice-creams, waffles, cakes, shakes and other classic diner desserts. All our food is made fresh to order. A great place out for friends and family!

A traditional East London Pie and Mash shop (also jellierd and stewed eels) near West Ham football ground and a simple bus ride from the olympic village. The food is traditional Pie (minced Beef) made on the premises with home made mashed potatoe served in a tradional green liqour (parsley) or with gravy. A real locals place well woth a visit.
Nathan's has been my Pie and Mash shop and I have always sung it's praises from going there as a child on a regular basis to visiting as often as I could after moving away. I went back there last weekend for a 'Farewell to the Boleyn' match at Upton Park and was delighted to see that the staff have not changed since I was a little girl! Clean, delicious Pie and Mash, friendly and happy place. I hope it lasts forever!

I went with my friends yesterday (having found the restaurant on Trip Advisor and wanting to try something new) and the meal was so good, I took my husband again tonight.
The food was fantastic and the service was great too. The atomsphere/building is lovely, although it can be a bit crowded. The meal leans towards the pricier side but I honestly believe the price is worth it for the quality of the meal.

If you are looking for a place which would be...
1. Cozy
2. Excellent in terms of the Thai food quality
3. With a nice family atmosphere and friendly service
... just go there
Of course if you prefer something more posh, the do not go bother. Go to central London and pay 4 or 5 times more fore more fancy place and the same food quality (if you are lucky).

I've eaten here around a dozen times and also visited for coffee and business meetings on other occasions.
Relish is a modern, spacious cafe located adjacent to the library in Barking and across the square from the Town Hall.
Nice range of items on the menu - quality is ok - can be very good, her times average.
Service varies from warm and friendly to perfunctory.
This is a reasonable place for business meetings although at busy times it can be noisy.

The restaurant was warm and full of customers enjoying the best Indian food in East Ham. My favourie was the cashew pilau rice..and the naans.. (Apparently it winds up the rest of the party of you help yourself to a tiny bit of their naan!!). Good service, excellent value for money.
