Parndorf has good discounts and many interesting shops, but every time I visited it, it was full of people, and you need to wait in a queue to enter the shop...Guess, for example is always messed up, too many people grabbing and throwing things around....All together, it is recommended to visit Parndorf on weekdays.

The time of the Romans in Carnuntum is not in the long-ago past, which can be seen by a few remains of walls, but it is the present which can be experienced with all one's senses. Today you can saunter in the footsteps of Roman emperors who wrote world history 1700 years ago. Public baths which are heated all year round entice you in the reconstructed Roman city quarter, the Amphitheatre and the gladiator school take you back to the world of gladiators, and timeless treasures in the Museum Carnuntinum are witness to the former inhabitants' zest for life and culture.
It is easy to overlook Carnuntum unless you are within 10 miles of it and happen to spot a signpost. Although it is obviously new the reconstruction has been done to an extremely high standard, with some of the original artefacts on display inside and out. The reception area includes a souvenir shop and an interesting video.
Away from the main reconstruction is the Amphitheatre. I was surorised at just how small it was.
Further still is the museum, which is well worth a visit. Since we had visited the other two sites, and were now at the third, we were given a demonstration of coin striking and were able to strike coins ourselves. The museum is well organised, and bright, and the exhibits are described in three languages, German, English, and one which looked Czech or Hungarian.

It is easy to miss this castle as you drive into Rohrau since it is set back from the road on a curve. There is a cafe restaurant located in the courtyard and you see cars parked outside. The exhibit in the castle consists of a small section displaying loads of paintings especially spanish and italian art. All the description is in German only.

We try 3 wines - was nice, but I think, the building is more beautifully than the wines. Love the Zaha Hadid designed bottles, also the personal who was nice and smiley and answer all my questions.

Described as one of the ‘Top 10 Wine Travel Destinations 2016’ by the Wine Enthusiast Magazine, Hoepler’s Wine Rooms in Burgenland offer a sensory tour to awaken your inner conscience to the world of wine. 8 wine rooms introduce you to a different aspect of wine. The aim: to break down the barriers that can make the world of wine intimidating & give you the confidence to form your own opinions.Tasting compulsory!
Hoeplers Weinraeume is an incredible way to experience everything great about wine. From their tasting rooms to their smelling rooms, Hoepler offers an experience for all the senses that I personally have never encountered before. Louise gave me a tour of their beautiful facilities and lead me through each of the five senses and how they associate with wine. I never knew how vital the soil and weather in Winden am See is to Hoepler's wine! I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone interested in learning a little about fine wine as well as having an overall enjoyable day.

My mother an I requested to come here while visiting relatives in the area. Every time we had visited, they had talked with pride about Haydn being from the area, and many tours of historical sites nearby mention his visits prominently. Visiting the house he was born and raised in was educational. The tour was small because the house was small, however the displays and size of the residence somehow make the legend of the Haydn family more impressive. Seeing how 'normal' the home life was for the family composers make the musical achievements much more impressive.

This venue is located just off the main road and is obviously very popular with families as there is plenty of space for kids to play.
We went there early evening and ordered wine and food. All their food, as in other heurigers, is cold. We waited over an hour - the wine had gone but there was still no sign of the food. We asked and were advised it was coming. We explained that our friend had a flight to catch and so she went back to the kitchen to check.
There was no way we would get our food in time so we had no option but to cancel our order. We paid the final bill with a different waitress - obviously our original one did not want to come back.....
We were disappointed and of course hungry and our guest had to fly out having had no dinner. No apologies were made either.
Not the kind of service one would expect when the food is cold anyway.....

The shopping environment at the fashion outlet is a little more conventional compared with the next door designer outlet. The brands carried are usually less common and more niche. Nonetheless, there are quality products sold, but not that cheap.
Upsides
- less crowd, easier to shop and browse
- less smoking shoppers as one part of the shopping area is indoor
- able to find less common and niche brands
- easy parking
Downsides
- no top tier brands like in the designer outlet
- lack of f&b joints
