The sea is so clear here it is hard to believe. This is a calm bay where you can swim way out. The Mountains are in the background and it is so photogenic. You can rent beach chairs. Get there by 10 in the summer or you won't find a place to park or sit.

Reptisland is a unique place of 250m2 with a variety of more than 40 types of reptiles, including snakes, lizards, turtles and even a Crocodile. A place for the whole family to watch, photograph, touch and learn about the magic world of reptiles. Dont be afraid the uknown just get to know it.
It's not so often in our lives when we can contact snails and other reptiles directly without fear - in this place you can do it. The only way to improve this place is to make it more easy to find.

I booked Cretan taxi service on-line to collect us from the airport to take us to our rented Villa in Sfakaki. George The owner was very efficient and arranged this via e-mail and reassured me that we would be collected.
The driver Mathios was waiting for us and welcomed us to Crete and quickly took our cases to the car . He was very efficient and drove us safely and comfortably through the busy roads of Crete. The journey took about an hour and bottled water was provided for all 5 passengers.
We booked Crete Taxis for our return journey and again Mathios was our driver and we were all looked after with the same efficiency, thank you.

We were on our way from Heraklion to Rethymno when we came across this lovely museum found in Axos Mylopotamou.
The artist Mr. Koutantos is a professional artist giving soul to his wood creations.
He was telling us that he is self- taught since very young.
His work is amazing and he does everything by using his hammer and chisel only.
He welcomes his guest and will leave his work behind if he need to, to give them a tour and explain everything. There are so many wonderful pieces out there to be admired!
If you are passing by, it pays to make a stop and meet Giogos!

A beautiful little port with several tavernas and cafe/bars, and a village beach. A must visit if you are in the resort, as it retains the charm of a fishing village, unlike the rest of the resort which is dedicated only to mass tourism. There are also rooms to rent most of the year around the port.

It definitely deserves a visit. The cave is quite deep but easy in access with stairs. Very nicely lighted. Nice stalagmites & stalaktites and wonderful "curtains" in the ceiling. The people are co-operative, there is free packing and it is not far for the national road.

This was one of the best massages i ever had on a holliday. The atmosphere was relaxing, clean and beautiful. The massage itself was great, he know exactly what to do with the points in your back after a flight and to much work:) love to come back and can recomand it to everybody!!

Probably because of the inflatable attraction in the water. This beach was definately family orientated.
2 sunlounges for 4 euro (was 2.30pm)
(They don't offer towels so bring your own!!!)
We got caught out having been able to hire a towel everywhere else but purchased one over the road for 6 euro.
Open showers available
Shallow enough water for small children. Amazing mountain views and eateries all around.
Happy we stopped here spontaneously for the afternoon.

For 3 euros your given a personal tour of the adjacent vineyard, the small production/bottling area and a sample of each of the 5...MoreThank you very much for your kind words. I hope that you will choose again our area and our winery for your holidays.

The building shows its Crusader or Venetian origins. There is a compelling sense of being used as a place of worship for hundreds of years.
