Grandiose, beautiful, majestic, powerful, amazing.... And much more ! How can people call the middle ages a "dark age" ???!!! When you see such extraordinary art work and skills. I doubt very much that in five hundred or a thousand years our descendants (if any!) will admire our buildings, houses, factories or supermarkets ??? Our era will be called the plastic and concrete age !!!! Nothing much to be proud of.... So just admire it and be humbled !

Well, what a find! My family and i (2 adults, 3 children) spent the day here recently and had such a great day. The cost of our day for 4 doing the adventure course was around 70 euros - it was well worth is and we stayed all day (10am - 7pm) .It can be a little tricky to find at first so make sure you use the postcode. This tree top adventure facility is wonderful. There are 7 courses in total and a huge zip wire to try at the end if your brave enough! Children from as young as 3yrs can join in and have fun. The courses are well marked out and are hidden within the woodland. When you arrive you're height is checked and you're given a coloured harness to wear, the colour dictates which courses you can and cannot do. To give you an idea, my youngest (8yrs) was able to do 4 of the courses with my eldest (15yrs) being able to do all of them. Each courses takes approx 25 minutes to complete and you can do them as many times as you wish - in no particular order. The zip wires are amazing as are the high rise obstacles, balancing beams and high wires / nets etc...great fun!
Safety is taken seriously here and the staff are always present helping you with any issues. There are some outdoor toilets to use if needed and a small kiosk selling drinks and ice lollies. car parking is free.

The Grand Staircase is outside to the rear of the Auch Cathedral. It has magnificent views of the Gascon countryside. Auch is the capital of the Gers Department, formerly Gascony, so it's no surprise that the Grand Staircase hosts a statue of favorite son d'Artagnan.

The free view from the outside is actually the best part of the castle. Inside there is nothing except for an irrelevant exposition of the work of a sculpture/painter. There is no point paying the entry fee as the outside is much nicer.

we rented a villa for two weeks just outside Auch and visited Quad Concept with our three teenage sons three times during our stay. We initially took pot luck and turned up hoping they could do quad biking, by change the timing was good and they were able to join a large group who had obviously pre booked. It was 30 Euros for 30 minutes but in reality, once they had been allocated quads and shown the basics they had 1hr, which I felt was good value for money. The chap who ran the place was very good, ensured everyone was confident and was firm but fun with the boys too. As a result we booked them in for dirt bike lessons which are 2 - 5pm each Wednesday, they did this twice, 40 Euros for the session but again very good value for money, really good range of bikes so kids as young as 8 could take part and fantastic instruction. For our boys the two dirt bikes sessions were the highlight of the holiday. Small cafe area there with picnic tables for drinks etc.

Born just after the French Revolution, the second oldest museum in France, after Le Louvre, welcomes you to the buildings of the former convent of the Jacobins. Rich with the second largest collection of pre-Columbian art in France, as well as several other collections, let yourself be carried away in a whirlwind of works of art more beautiful than the others. For the children a fun discovery is planned thanks to a fabulous "treasure hunt" in the rooms of the museum!
Of all places, I was amazed to find such a large collection of pre-Columbian art in Auch, the 2nd largest in France. The museum is housed in a former covent, a succession of small rooms. Modest entrance fee and enthousiastic staff! We had the place...MoreHello, We're glad that you enjoyed your visit and particulary our pre columbian art collection that we are very prouf of ! Thanks for your coment and hope to see you again in Gascony ! Warm Regards, Sophie Musée des Jacobins

"Le domaine de Herrebouc" is a family organic vineyard of twelve hectares, located in the heart of gascony and specialized in the production of small yield quality wines (white, red & rosé). Cellars visits, sale and tastings can be made all year, by appointment only - best at 10h30 or 17h.
You visit Herrebouc to taste its wines, bio or in any case traditionally made. Cote de Gascogne it's worth trying even if you may have been spoiled by Burgundy or Bordeaux wines! At the same time you will see a very unusual architecture in a typical Gascon castle a type of enlarged tower. Herrebouc is also great for kids as they can visit the farm, enjoy the creek and even have a go at archery
