The largest city in Switzerland is a major contemporary art and shopping destination. Important artworks are displayed in the Kunsthaus and the Rietberg Museum, while those who consider shopping an art can hone their skills along Bahnhofstrasse and Niederdorf. Chagall's stained glass windows in the Fraumunster amaze and Zurich's 500 clubs and bars, including several in swimming pools, pulse with life 'til the early hours. This city on Lake Zurich has excellent public transit and a free bike rental system.

This restaurant is located in a historic building constructed in 1295. Parts of the original ceiling remain in place. For example, the restaurant's wood ceiling hasn't changed since 1295.
Stories aside... The 28 year old chef is amazing. Food is slow, but that's because he takes his time to do a great job. It's worth the wait.
Service is also slow, but the truth is that the waiters are really nice people.
The sicilian manager is a nice person as well and will guide you toward what you are really looking for.
Last but not least, the view is beautiful and the tables are wide and spaced from each other, a rarity in the center of zurich.
Highly recommended.

The Pavillon, Baur au Lac's recently refurbished restaurant, features fresh and modern cuisine within an environment that effortlessly fuses contemporary and classic style. Head Chef Laurent Eperon creates an artful combination of traditional ingredients and flavors with creative and innovative preparations, and he, along with the Pavillon, was recently awarded his first Michelin star. Chef Eperon and the Pavillon also hold 17 GaultMillau points. The Pavillon is open year-round Monday through Friday and on Saturday evenings, and can accommodate up to 64 guests.
We came w another couple for an anniversary dinner. The dining area was lovely and the service was good. The tasting menu was quite excellent, worthy of its high Zurich price. However the dessert was a bit off, not that creative for a one Michelin star restaurant and a bit too sweet. A la cart prices are outrageously high, a simple small portion main dish would cost you on average 100 CHF. It is a very good one by Zurich standard.

Went for lunch with my wife on a Thursday. The restaurant was reasonably busy and relatively loud. Good thing about that is, that you can have a conversation without constantly feeling like being heard by the whole restaurant.
Menue consists of classical dishes that are cooked to perfection. Needless to say everything comes at relatively high prices, but absolutely in line with price level in Zurich, thus not being overpriced at all.
Service is very attentive and cleary ranks among the best in town.

A sumptuous, elegant ambience awaits you in the "La Soupiere" restaurant. Our Maitre d'hotel, Helmut Stadlober, and his team will look after you with the greatest of care. The fresh culinary delights are lovingly prepared for you by the Chef, Martin Fencz, and his team. Let yourself be pampered with regional and French specialties or enjoy dishes freshly prepared from the market of the day. Every lunchtime we will surprise you with an attractively priced Business Lunch. The tables are placed far apart from one another. Hence, the restaurant is also ideal for business lunches in a discreet atmosphere without any uninvited eavesdroppers.

It is easy to miss Da Angela if you drive past. And you certainly would miss out. I had one of their lunch specials which left me with a very happy tummy. Service is friendly & attentive without being overbearing and prices are reasonable for the quality of food. The restaurant was full during lunch hour but that didn't slow them down.

The ‘Differente’ restaurant and bar uses only high-quality, seasonal and local produce for its dishes. We pride ourselves on our Mediterranean dishes and Swiss specialities. Our unique tartare creations are also very popular. We take pleasure in providing perfect service. This is one of our top priorities. Food that is flambéed, filleted and carved at the table will make your meal a memorable occasion. The ‘Differente’ restaurant invites you to lunch or dinner in a stylish and friendly ambience. Our menus range from classic Mediterranean dishes to Swiss specialities and also include our renowned and popular tartare creations. Our seasonal specialities leave nothing to be desired. We have refined vegetarian dishes on the menu too. Hot meals are also served in the afternoon and evening until 23.00.
The food, ambience, services are great. Food portion is quite big. Tartare is well seasoned, and for non tartare fan, there are other options . My daughter loves the dessert, coffee mousse which is absolutely delicious. Must try when in zurich

This is an excellent fish restaurant. A bit formal but very friendly service. Great carpaccio of white fish, very well seasoned. Simply cooked seabass for two with a Dijon mustard sauce. Simple, but delicious. Not cheap but well worth it count 125 chf per person. Helpful in getting a cab, a bit difficult to find.

Had dinner at Weisses Rossli on a rainy night in Zurich. Weisses Rossli is really easy to find, sumo,to take the 13 or 17 tram to Waffenplatzstrasse. A great example of Zurich's public transit.
It's a small restaurant with mostly tables side-to-side down the length of the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, perhaps the seats are just a little too close.
The food was really good. We started with buffalo mozzarella with tomato foam and melon balls. The mozzarella and tomato were wonderful together, the melon balls were a great contrast in taste.
As a main course my wife had a beef loin with French fries. The beef was perfectly prepared and quite good. She said the fries were 'just what I've been hungry for'. I had cod with mashed potatoes. The cod was flaky and accompanied by an extraordinary sauce. I have no idea what it was, but the sauce was perfect.
Weisses Rossli handled our requirement for gluten free dining with grace and skill. Service was very professional and very European in style.
We enjoyed Wesses Rossli very much, highly recommended.

I was really surprised to find out that place is not only the best Pizzeria but also the best restaurant in whole Zürich. No way ever. Don’t be fooled and make the long trek into the outskirts of Zürich Schwamendingen, a low income neighborhood. The place is ok, I had a pizza prosciutto which was average with a big crust, most of it wasted. The big boss made his rounds happy about the full restaurant. Don’t get me wrong, it is a decent neighborhood restaurant with decent food and service, but I cannot understand this high rating.
