You will discover a brasserie where cosiness is the key word in this typical historical building. Pop in for a nice meal and taste the regional beers!- Tourism Ypres -
We arrived without booking and they managed to squeeze us in as long as we had left by 8pm. That was fine as we needed to leave by 7.15pm ourselves.
The food was nice, beef stew and fish stew. My beef was very tender and tasty and I loved the chicory slaw. My husband commented that there was too much sauce with the fish stew compared to the amount of fish, however it was tasty. His mashed potato was lumpy ( he has a real issue with this and had to have my chips instead).
The beers were good and the staff were very friendly.
Good simple food in a great environment - we left happy :)

I had a business dinner with Kiwanis Ieper. Fantastic Flemish menu: steak béarnaise, pommes frites and salad, good wine. Exquisite taste. Lady of the house, the chef and staf as usual high professional standard, giving you a posh feeling. We had dinner in the bigger restaurant room with all equipment available for a presentation. High standard interior with a huge chimney depicting wood carved hunting theme, one feels back in time in first class restaurant. This is a fine restaurant, well known by locals. If you are looking for a place with high standard menu and for value for money outside Ieper center, this is a place to go.

My wife had fish two nights running, there not being great choice for coeliacs. First night, OK. Second night, she asked for the fish to be cooked a little more but was still unsatisfied and (being coeliac) is very wary of eating anything she is not entirely comfortable with. The fish was returned uneaten. As we left, the owner told us in no uncertain terms, loudly and with pointing finger - the fish was perfect, the fish was perfectly cooked, we will pay for the fish! In other establishments, the manager would simply acknowledge the situation, express disappointment, maybe knock something off the bill. Not this one; so we argued about the meaning of customer service. This concluded with him giving us the whole meal for free (spiting himself) and barring us from the restaurant. Bizarre behaviour.
If you do eat there, be aware that the portions are huge and not enjoyably so.

Charming service, cosy surroundings, great beer, delicious home cooked local specialties and good value. Well worth the short walk away from the bustling centre to find this gem. Especially good if you are in a reflective mood after attending the last post ceremony.Thank You Alex and laura.

Stopped off for lunch and was very impressed by this restaurant. There was no English on the menu but the waitress spent time translating and recommending items on the menu - the staff could not have been helpful enough. The patio and garden have good views and there is plenty of space inside if the weather is not so good. Food was very tasty and well presented - not too pricy at all.

We visited here twice today whilst we were visiting the museums, first for a morning coffee and cake. Then for a meal, both were lovely and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Traditional Flemish restaurant with 200 beers, lunch and dinner, reservation is recommended, near to the Passendale Museum.
Ate here twice on a recent battlefield visit. Although there was not a spare table in the place, the meals were really quick but the quality was still there. Ribs -perfect. And the beer. Didn't get past the Passchendaele. Perfect in every way. Good knowledgable wait staff with good english.

Given the high quality of the food, the service and the ambience, we were surprised at how easy it was to book a table last Thursday and how quiet the restaurant was. It may be because it is not in the main tourist square, but tucked away in a side street with little obvious signage. But only two minutes walk from the Market Square, and well worth finding!
We enjoyed an amuse bouche, baked prawns, and one of us had deer calf fillet, and the other an excellent rack of lamb. Both main courses exceeded expectations, and melted in the mouth. The desserts were also very good.
The young lady who welcomed and served was friendly, polite and efficient. Compliments to her and the chef.
We will definitely return when next in Ieper.
