A group of 8 friends returned to Wise for lunch after enjoying a mid year get together there.
I had made a reservation in advance and on arrival we were promptly seated near the open window with beautiful views of the bay and vineyards on a lovely summer's day.
Heath the chef suggested we share a range of entees so we could all get a taste of what was on offer.
The entrees all sounded delicious so this was a good idea.
Among the range of entrees delivered to the table was the beetroot bowl which was light and full of unexpected but delicious flavours including orange, date and courgettes. The beetroot was incredibly sweet.
We also savoured the cured salmon, chicken liver parfait and Fremantle octopus with black charcoal hummus which were enjoyed by all.
Heath also suggested we share a mixture of mains and as we had enjoyed the shared entree concept so much we decided to do so again.
A big hit was the Shark Bay Rankine Cod served on a salad of vine ripened tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and EVOO. The fish fillet was moist and perfectly cooked.
For the meat lovers the Angus Sirloin was tender and flavoursome as was the crispy pork belly.
Topping off the mains selection was a delicious potato and spinach gnocchi with blue cheese cream and tomato sugo.
Our whole table then enjoyed the creme brulee and coffee.
The service was pleasant, informative and attentive throughout our lunch.
A big positive for our group is that restaurant serves beer on tap as well as wine.
Overall our luncheon experience was of a high standard with every member of the party giving it either a 9 or 10/10 and we look forward to returning.

The Cape Lodge Restaurant is described as one of Australia's finest new generation dining establishments. The menu features seasonal local and home grown produce plucked from nearby oceans, local farms and our kitchen garden to create fresh innovative cuisine. Our wine list is extensive and features both back vintages from Margaret River's great wine estates and other Australian and international wine regions.
This was our second cooking class / long table lunch at Cape Lodge. Chef Tony Howell excelled in guiding us through the preparation and presentation of several exciting alternatives to more traditional Aussie Christmas fare. Always entertaining, Tony presented a Christmas Seafood Plate for Two (Fish, scallops, marron and asparagus); Court Bouillon; Stuffed Spatchcock (with creamed corn and charred broccolini); Brandy Creme Brulee; and Cinnamon Icecream.
Our long table dining, in company with four other couples, featured these superb creations. Cape Lodge wines were replenished generously as we enjoyed our feast.
Service was simply outstanding. Management and staff are to be congratulated for excellence in all respects. Special thanks to Charles (Charlie) Serveau, Food and Beverages Manager, for tailoring the menu to individual tastes and dietary requirements... and to Chef Tony Howell*, for such an entertaining and _exciting_ class.
* Tony's tour of Cape Lodge's vegetable / herb Gardens again provided several tips for our own produce projects. Fresh vegetables, organically grown and harvested just prior to preparation for cooking, are hard-to-beat!~

Have been various times before! But we went for casual lunch!
Great breakfast menu available all day, but didn’t have too much for lunch.
We were offered the a la crate menu.
But could not some focacios or delicious baguettes be made easily.
The coffee prices seem to have become expensive!
Would not bother again for lunch.

If you only choose one dish then have the duck to share - it is wonderful and ample between 2. Beautiful red Thai curry flavours and falls off the bone. If you still have room then would recommend the green apple and coconut sorbet. Lovely...MoreHello Dawn R Thank you for your glowing comments and I am glad you enjoyed the duck. On your next visit please try the Seafood share pan, equally rewarding as the duck (is a favourite of mine) Regards Steve

We had a birthday lunch for ten people at Goanna cafe recently. Sitting outside in the natural bush setting was a very relaxing experience.
The food was excellent, even better than our last visit; and Steph did a really professional job looking after us, she couldn't have done more.
Great coffee and cakes to finish.

Simmo’s icecream is handmade using the freshest local produce; milk and cream is pasteurized on the premise, followed by a combination of a few secret ingredients and Simmo’s imagination to create flavours that are udderly delicious! From a list of about 100 different flavours, of which 60 are on display daily as well as the adventure park, expanse of lawn and renovated astroturfed 18 hole goofy golf. Simmos is on the ‘must do’ list of many visiting the Dunsborough / Margaret River Region.
Well worth the slight detour off the main road. There seemed to be over a hundred different varieties to choose from and the Granddaughters took great delight at choosing. Outside there is a play ground area and next to this a solar farm with a Emu that loves ice cream too, but be careful as he can get a bit boisterous.

We had lunch for six, (plus one 22 month old) in such a beautiful out-door setting, with tranquil views to the far horizons. It was well set out, with charming little touches enhancing the surrounds. The food was exquisite, and the wine/beer selection very good. The staff were caring, efficient and cheerful, which was important to us, what with our adorable little one. The service was prompt and well organised. All in all, a wonderful experience. It was not cheep, but it was worth it.

Nestled amongst the bushland of the glorious South West, overlooking a tranquil lake and soaring gum trees, lies Clancy’s Fish Pub Dunsborough. Featuring all the loveable traits from the Fish Pub family, in the most spectacular of settings, Clancy’s Dunsborough is a must-see. Delicious seafood is scoffed and local beer and wine guzzled by locals and holiday-makers, while the sound of live music drifts through the serene surrounds. Clearly a place for all, with families, surfers, muso’s, artists, tourists, dogs and even the odd emu, the entire family will love the grassy openness of Clancy’s Dunsborough……
My wife and I hosted two friends visiting from Germany to lunch at Clancy's.
Great selection of beers with knowledgable staff who could match or beer likes with what was available on-tap, and it was very good.
Honest simple food without all the frills, tasty and fresh.
A great spot!
