If you are looking for a bit of a break from Chinese food, I highly recommend the Pizza Hut in Chikan District of Zhanjiang. This is as close as you can get to an American Pizza Hut style pizza in Mainland China. After living here for 10 months I need a pizza fix each week.
This Pizza Hut also serves Chinese style Italian dishes, in other words it serves Italian named foods but it is not quite the same as an American Pizza Hut. It is still pretty good, just don't expect exactly the same taste as you would get in Hong Kong or the USA.

Excellent BBQ joint, great taste, especially BBQ chicken wings and bean curd. The place is nice and spacious, probably the best on the whole street full of late night eating joints. Very cheap beer available, possibly cheapest in town, can speak English/Japanese/Cantonese/Mandarin/and various local dialect, also tried the chicken hot pot and very delicious.

Probably the best japanese all-you-can-eat cuisine in Zhanjiang, very nice decor, sashimi is fresh. Everything on the menu is very pricey. We had the pay-one-price all-you-can-eat dinner deal for lunch. Everything is made fresh. We were the only customers that day during lunch time, probably because it is quite pricey. But if you like Japanese food, it is worth it.
