My friend invited me to have lunch at this very established 'institution' of sea food. He picked the € 30 menu which includes fish soup, an ensemble of different sea shell food and a dessert.
As a surprise with the aperitif there was delicious haring and cucumber, prepared by the house.
The menu consisted of fish soup -which was excellent and served n the classic French way with rouille to add-, the main plate were half baby lobster, a crab leg, small shrimp, langoustine and 'wulloks'; All were quite fresh. My only remark is, for the price the main dish isn't that spectacular. It's served on a ordinary plate and the amount of food isn't that big. Dessert was a home made vanilla bavarois -excellent as well.
All in all a very good experience, would have prepared to see the main plate served in another more classic way: that of the tower of sea food as is usual with these kind of dishes. Wines however, even less spectacular wines are all quite expensive starting out at € 25 for an ordinary wine.

Everything about this restaurant is nicely in balance with its reputation.
We had a wonderful tasting menu of which the portions were perfectly sized, allowing us to finish the desert with the same enthusiasm as the first course.
Also nice was the "bob" arrangement, this means that you get a small amount of the matching wines with each course without drinking more than one glass of wine in total.
The ingredients were rather common (mackerel, scallops, cod fish, pheasant) but each was deliciously prepared with less common but perfectly matching flavours.
The wines perfectly matched the dishes and the dessert was preapred with as much care as the other plates.
The price is at the level of a two Michelin star restaurant but is acceptable given the excellent treat. Service is extremely friendly yet discrete.
The only dissonant is the setting at the sea front in a sort of wooden extension to the building which is so typical for the Belgian coast line. It gives the whole setting a rather cheapish look.
There is no parking and in the neighborhood there is only metered parking possible.
Good to know, there is a daily lunch for a reasonable price which might be a good alternative for a good meal at a lower cost.

This family restaurant has an excellent kitchen and is serving a wide range of Belgian classics at the seaside. An excellent quality/price ratio and you can notice this: it gets always extremely busy, so you better make your reservation well in advance! Nice lunch menus with attractive prices! Love this place.

Restaurant with beautiful location on the beach . Specialised in Bouillabaisse, Fish and Lobster. Tender Beef. A nice selection of wine. July and August also open on Monday
This is the second time we have visited from England, we were staying in Bruges but wanted to eat at this establishment again. It is an excellent restaurant, the food is beautifully presented and made to perfection. It is a very welcoming restaurant, that enables you to sit and enjoy the pleasure of food

Nice little family-runned restaurant right in front of the entrance of the Zeebrugge marina.
We took the 5 course menu which was a pure delight. Unfortunately enough appropriate wines were not included in the price.
The service is friendly and alert to your needs.
All in all good value for your money.

We went for lunch on a Saturday. It was empty but very welcoming with a fireplace and freshly cut Parma Ham as "Amuse bouche". The menu is a good composition of seasonal produce and fish/seafood. We had partridge as main course which was delicious.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The old windmill outside gives the restaurant a romantic touch.
Just make sure that you take enough cash as they do not accept any credit cards in this restaurant.
Definitely will go again - perfect before an afternoon stroll at the beach of Knokke-Heist.

Very gray, modern and rather cold and austere interior. No warmth. The food however is very good.Half a dozen amuse bouches each creative and very tasty. A la carte: langoustines with mousse of foie gras, tasty. Turbot with caviar , bland taste, good caviar. Home made vanilla ice with chocolate sauce, heavenly. We did not take the cheese trolley which was a mistake as it looked outstanding. A Coche Dury meursault at below euro 200 which is fairly priced. Very good service. This is a very good restaurant with a so so interior but de gustibus non disputandum est.

This restaurant is clearly the best option in the western part of Zeebrugge, which doesn't have many to start with. And because of that it can often be packed so reservation is a must in the summer. Food was quite good but hardly elaborate. Salads and mussels are not that hard to make, right? Service was slow. It's obvious that recruiting proper waiters in the area in the summer is not easy.
Unless you fancy looking at a sea of concrete there is not much point in sitting outside, especially considering the wind.
A series of paintings were hung on the walls, large canvases of comic-like female bathers, and for some reason I thought this was a touch of bad taste in an otherwise refined décor.
In the evening the bar right next to the restaurant, part of the same business, can be lively, full of friendly locals chatting in Dutch.

If You want to eat lobster, come here. They serve the best lobster ever. Also warm lobster dishes available in different styles, realy delicious. Choose the lobster of the northsea over the Canadian one, a bit more expensive but 1000 times more delicious, worth every euro and You don't eat lobster every week.
