I recently adventured with my parents and a few of their friends when they came to visit in Peru (where I live), and El Huacatay is an absolute must if you're spending any amount of time in Urubamba, in the Sacred Valley! It's very well-hidden...MoreThank you for the recommendation and for visiting us.

Open every day (monday to sunday) from 12:30 pm to 9:30 pm, we have a nice balcony and capacity for 40 people. Local, international and fusion food, wines and cocktails.
This was my 7th time at the restaurant and as usual it was amazing. I order the Lamb Shank and the pepper steak. We had dinner with the owner who very entertaining and fun to chat with. The quality of the food here is really remarkable. I was saddened to hear that the restaurant will be closing soon after 14 years.

Surrounded by flower Gardens on the most delightful grounds, our restaurant is situated along the Urubamba river in the majestic Sacred Valley of the Incas. We’ve taken great care in creating a truly unique experience, an extensive buffet of mouthwatering dishes and very attentive service amidst our beautifully decorated setting for you and your family to relax, spoil your senses and have a magnificent dining experience.
This lovely hacienda had a beautiful setting with botanical Gardens overlooking the river. The food was mainly Peruvian with great soups, cold and hot appetizers, main dishes including alpaca and a wide array of desserts. We were on a tour bus but the line moved quickly and we had time to explore the grounds and they have a nice gift shop on the premises as well. Service was very good and attentive.

One of the best things about Peru has been all the people we interacted with. They are all so friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff was no exception. They have a good menu, really nice ambience with a big fireplace in the center. The food was good and we also enjoyed breakfast here the next day.

The restaurant is located in Urubamba in the sacred valley and is situated in the most beautiful Gardens, behind which there is a small llama and alpaca farm. There are also macaws, but having come from the Amazon and learned how sociable these birds are, and how different colour macaws stick to their own, I was upset to see birds of different colours put together. It might be aesthetically pleasing, but not natural for the birds.
The restaurant specialises in Peruvian dishes, served as a buffet. There was food for every type of diet, including several purely vegetable dishes suitable for vegans and numerous salads. The food was excellent, in particular the king fish, which although spicy, was not too hot. The tuna and spinach roll was also delicious.
The meat dishes both looked and smelled goods, and my companions said they were very tasty.
The desserts were made with Peruvian fruits, and I tried both the passion fruit mousse and the lime mousse, both of which were excellent.
The restaurant is off the main road and it is a lovely place in which to have a meal and escape from a hectic sightseeing schedule.
I cannot judge the price because my lunch was included in a guided tour.

Wayra means wind in Quechua, the language of our Valley. Now, it also means a unique space where nature, art, gastronomy, adventure and good living blend together.
If you stay in the hotel, the restaurant is a great location to have a lunch. Just be mindful, if you are not part of a tour group as you need to eat a la carte, instead of the special prepared tasting menu. The reception in the hotel is not able to make that kind of reservation. But overall the a la carte is excellent, and you can sit on benches watching a nice horseshow. We had several items, of which one was the pork belly which was very nice indeed.

Was highly recommended by a fellow traveller who was visiting Cusco from Barcelona. We stopped by for lunch and were delighted to find a quaint haven in Urubamba. Fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented meal. Two of our party were vegetarians and for a change they had ample choices. Family run, garden atmosphere and we sat in the patio amidst vibrant flowers.

Our last dinner in Peru was our best. Eduardo is a wonderful chef and person
He went above and beyond to provide excellent service and food. And the food was delicious.
We enjoyed the curry dishes as well as his take on More Peruvian dishes like Lomo Saltado.
Had we found it sooner, we would have gone a few times.
