Just its location—in the Sacred Valley of the Incas—makes Urubamba sound like a mystical, magical place. The snow covered Ch'iqun mountain stands proudly in the background of this Peruvian town that serves as a base for people who want to visit the famous ancient Incan ruins of Machu Picchu. Zip lines and horseback rides let you experience this valley in the Andes in wildly different ways.

We organize Horseback riding tours with Peruvian Paso Horses along the Sacred Valley of the Inkas (mid day, 1D, 2-6D). Lakes, snow Mountains, archaeological complexes (Moray, Salinas, Ollantaytambo) natural reserves, contact with native towns and civilizations, pleasure and good time are part of our tours.
My friend and I joined Yojan for a day hike to the Salinas and Moray. Yojan was a wonderful guide with a wealth of knowledgable about the beautiful Peruvian Paso horses, and the area. The horses were well looked after, and well trained. Yojan adapted our ride so we could spend longer on the horses which was great!
This was a really unique way the see the countryside with panoramic views of the Mountains. I would highly recommend this experience! Thank you :)

Inkariy offers a dynamic experience, through artistic installations that represent more than five thousand years of history; from Caral to the Inkas.
Excellent stop in the beginning of the trip. The museum is staged in different buildings, each highlighting the pre-Incan tribal history. It gave us a well-rounded understanding prior to embarking on tours of Ollantaytambo, Machu Picchu, and Pisac. We had a guide that took us from building to building, summarizing the similarities and differences. Even more impressive, many of the buildings had elaborate dioramas showing a prominent ritual. We found it fascinating and a great start to our adventure.

What a wonderful experience to see this incredible work of the Incas and how they sett out the terracing for their farming - you must request to see this. We were there late in the day and it was fine, think the crowds had been.

We are a craft brewery located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Come visit our tasting room located along the Urubamba River for fresh brews and brewery tours. We are open to the public Wednesday-Sunday from 2-7pm. From Cusco you can take private or public transport directly to Paradero Puente Pachar; we'll be on on the corner located next to a small chapel.
We visited this Brewery last year on an anniversary trip after zip lining across the street. It is a short taxi ride away from Urubamba and well worth the trip. Outstanding beer! Fun place to watch soccer games and hang out. They also have a few snacks / food items. We liked it so much we came back the next day.

Dario’s home brewery is the real deal - his five beers are all phenomenal and could fit in any snooty beer joint’s menu in the United States. (IPA was my pick.) The real best part was chatting with Dario, seeing his tiny brewing operation, and trying all the beers in the bar which is situated in his home. It’s a great location right by Urubamba’s Plaza de Armas and worth every sol (10 soles per pint). Any visitor to Urubamba is missing out if they skip Willkamayu!

This is a bustling market selling fruit, vegetables, spices, livestock etc. Popular with locals. There are some stalls selling woven products and I suspect they are aimed at the tourist market. Great fun either just to experience the day to day life, get som egreat photos or have some fun and barter for something to eat. I don't think the market is open every day so check first.

Hidden gem!!! Not always is open but if It is please visit, is extraordinary inside for pray and meditate.
There are many "Altares" across the Church and three main in the front, It is very similar to small churches in Spain and Italy, because there are many details in every Altar.

A very unique salt field in the high altitude. It was at the end of a good hike so that one could understand even more how unique it was to have hot underground water dissolving the salt and bring it to the surface.

I hiked this yesterday with my husband and my sister-in-law and it exceeded all of my expectations! The hike itself is beautiful, the waterfall is breathtaking and the archaeological site located at the top of the canyon makes you get a sense of what Peru was like before the hoards of tourists!! We started the hike in Socma and it was the perfect distance (I would say about 8 km) round trip. The workout was great, but I didn't end up feeling overly exhausted when we came back!!
