Ybbs an der Donau (German pronunciation: [ˈɪps]) is a city in Austria. It was established in 1317. Throughout the town, from the intersection of the important trade routes and along the Danube the town has preserved a site that already had great economic importance during the Middle Ages. This is the reason for the very early award of incorporation as a town.

We stayed here for 1 night in September 2012. The rooms are recently refurbished, it is very modern, comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are very good. We ate here for dinner and lunch as well and the food was very good. The fresh fish was great and the soups as well. The dessert was the best, pancake with marillen (apricot) marmalade and chocolate sauce.
The owners are great! They were very friendly and patient with us, as we have many special request due to attending the Wachau Marathon. We felt really at home, they made our weekend really enjoyable.

The Bärenwirt (“The Bear”) owes its label to the legend of a medieval knight who vanquished a menacing bear. Nowadays, bears are not on the menu, but arriving guests tend to be hungry as a bear nonetheless.
Ate here whilst staying in the hotel on a business trip I had the local traditional dish which was very tasty and seemed to be cooked fresh. Nice decor and good service. Would recommend if in the area.

Stopped for a beer and snack on our way to Melk. Milkshake was warm and thin and very small. Despite limited guests service was indifferent. Had to go inside to request additional service. Bruschetta not tasty or generous. When bill came it was wrong. Surprisingly, not in our favour! Avoid.

We ordered 1 Huhnerschn alterburger, 1 Bauernnpfandl & 1 Puszta-kotelett and it taste ok but I'm just wondering with the sluggish waitress who keeps on dropping the folks and spoon and just pick it up and gave it to the customer....funny attitude as though everyone dine there would only be kind of one off.

Truly awful experience - when we arrived at lunchtime on 8th December we noticed that several tables were uncleared - some of them were still uncleared when we left 40 minutes later. This might just have been understandable or excusable had the place been busy but it wasn't. Another couple came in, looked round at the uncleared tables and left, we should have done the same but I'd heard lots of great reports about Johnny Rockets. Our order for burgers, fries and shakes was taken, about 20 minutes later the shakes and fries arrived with an assurance that the burgers would be 'with us in a minute', 20 minutes later, with fries consumed and the shakes drunk still no burgers, we noticed that our server sent over another staff member to apologise for the delay and assure us that it would just be a minute before the burgers arrived. Several minutes later they arrived, but we had to get to the airport, very disappointed with the whole experience. What made it worse was that there was no apology from our server, he simply said, "It's not my fault". This was the only example of poor customer service we experienced in our three week holiday in the States.

I was honored to eat at this restaurant on November 16th 2016.
I really appreciated Günter and Klaus' great hospitality!
I loved this place with a beautiful panoramic view over the Danube river.
Food is just fantastic, with great service and elegance.
I hope to be back again soon.

Great burgers, italien food and austrian kitchen. Especially the beef tartare was incredible. A very nice garden, modern style and very friendly service. Cool extra room for afterwork meetups and yes, fancy drinks in black coctail glasses.

Well I thought this Hotel OK, but my wife was not at all impressed, it was clean and the breakfast was ok, not the usual choice of food but reasonable. Service was cordial not overly done, more a typical local Hotel not one that has to many tourists, I think.
