As first time visitors from Sydney and unsure on choices on a great menu we left it to Linda the manager to suggest a mini banquet. We were overwhelmed by thr quality and tastiness. The barbequed quail is a must to order. The combination seafood hotpot is also one not to miss. Service was fast inspite of a full house on a Tuesday evening. Certainly of the best Vietnamese restaurant in Australia and this is attested with walls in the restaurant full of industry accolades,

Part of the Lake Resort Hotel
Worst meal ever firstly the layout of the Bistro remaindered me of the Mess Hall when I was in the Army all the tables in a straight line crammed in to maximise the amount of people they could seat. Very cold and unromantic.
Ok so we took our table which was tinny probably 50CM x 60CM barely enough room to put anything on other than a dinner plate, so we looked over the menu and made our choices I then went to order our meals only to discover there was a specials menu by the counter mind you it had nothing written on it to say Today’s Specials so I said to the young lady you should have a copy of that on each table with the menu’s so people can see it before they come to order their meal and she replied oh that would be too much hassle as it changes every day so be it I said but someone has to set the tables everyday so I couldn’t see it being a big deal and she said people see it when they come in and I said well I didn’t and there is nothing on it to say Today’s special.
Anyway I ordered half a dozen oysters Kilpatrick and the salt & pepper squid, when the oysters arrived they weren’t cooked they had been placed under the grill for a couple of minutes so the sauce and bacon were grilled but the oysters were still raw uneatable for me I can’t stand oysters natural.
The salt & pepper squid came with chips & salad the chips weren’t fresh luke warm obviously they had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long the salad wasn’t fresh obviously been sitting out on a bench top unrefrigerated for hours the squid was nice and tender but tasteless.
Overhaul a very pour effort and when you consider I bought 4 drinks the evening cost me almost $90 dollars which in my case is about half a day’s work I certainly won’t be going there again.

This is a very popular patisserie managed by Swedish owners. A very busy restaurant near the beach that specialises in breakfast, brunch and lunches.

lovely light meals and the most amazing cupcakes. A great variety of teas as well as great coffee.
In my last review I had it as 'hit and miss' and average, but the standard has certainly slipped lately. There's one male staff member out the front who seems friendly and tries to help out, but most of the other staff members I've encountered can be rude. The cafe has 'rules' about not swapping or changing menu items, so good luck if you've got an allergy or special need that **should** be catered for with a simple swap to something else they already have.
I ate there a few times when on a recent trip, expecting the service to improve (maybe they just had a bad day, right? Well, apparently it's just how things are now).
Almost everything I tried from their new menu was a bit tasteless. Sounded great when Reading the menu but then was disappointing.
The napkin stinginess continues which is very frustrating as several times the coffee or drinks come out already a bit spilled, and the tables often haven't been wiped - I usually use my rationing of napkins before my meal comes out.
Things went especially downhill during busier times - ok I get it, busy cafes get busy, but honestly, it's when they make most of their money and why have that many tables if you can't offer people decent service?

We had the wake for my father in law recently at La Vita as a local and popular restaurant. We visited again recently for a meal and fine food. We were not disappointed. The servings were large, tasty and delivered served in a very timely manner. The garlic bread crunchy, the polo cooked extremely well, the risotto, fraction dry but tasty and the sweets, Bomba Limoncello was to die for. More than enough for 2 people. Kevin has done a great job with an authentic countryside Italian feel and ambiance. Always busy but you must give it a try.

Wood Oven Pizza
My wife and I came here again and thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the wine, as well as the ambience. In addition, the service rendered by Evelyn and Andrew was extremely friendly and efficient.

We were visiting Australia from late December 2017 to late January 2018, during this time we ate out at many restaurants and pubs, took drinks in a host of pubs and cafes and visited many attractions. We visited the Birkenhead on our very first night in Australia and despite being very tired, we had a great time... Food was served quickly by pleasant staff, everything came out together and was well presented... A nice surprise since my last visit 4 years earlier was a list of craft beers available... A bottle of White Rabbit dark ale went very nicely with a plate of Salt & Pepper Squid.

We are a happy, flexible, large restaurant with sea views, excellent outdoor Seating and extensive menus. We cater for all groups and enjoy helping people celebrate special occasions with a variety of set menu and cocktail style options.
Unpretentious, casual and friendly with great views over Semaphore beach. And that's before the food arrives. There's a small but diverse selection of "to share" dishes which never disappoint. The spare ribs are succulent while the zucchini flowers tempura style were magic. A very good wine list for this type of restaurant. A great way to spend the afternoon.

A family owned bakery/cafe where you will find restaurant quality at cafe prices. Your taste buds will thank you as will your pocket, everything is produced in house to the highest standards, the Barista is exceptional, you will not be disappointed
Apart from the range of gourmet bakeries and superb coffee, Tim and Peter make a range of excellent salads that vary from week to week. For example a recent salad reflecting Tims' German roots was a fermented cabbage and vegetable. Other salads have included a potato salad and a coleslaw which are markedly better than the usual offering.

We are staying at the hotel my wife and 1 year old son. We decided to stay at home and eat in the hotel restaurant. I knew it was a little posh but thought we'd be ok. On entering there was about 8 couples and a table of 4. My little boy was a tad noisy due to having being hungry and happiness. I thought we were annoying a lot but 3 couples came over and had a chat with us and playing with little Henry. Ok now onto the food. We had a spinach and ricotta dish we shared with burnt sage butter. Beautiful. My wife had rabbit and porcini ragout which was very nice and I had a beef fillet medium. Well my beef came out well done which I couldn't eat and which I hate sending stuff back but I couldn't eat a well done steak. They took it back with much apologies and came back with a beautifully cooked fillet and to top it off they gave us free desserts to show how sorry they were. I really appreciated this and feel that they are a genuine restaurant who put the customer first. The staff were out of this world. As a whole 10/10 for effort all over but needs some fine tuning thanks guys
