If you visit Villers Sur Mer then you must pop in to this establishment. It's located on the seafront next to the Promenade towards the Mairas end of town. We spent two weeks in Villers and it was because of the service we received that we returned more than once. As well as regularly popped in for a drink to watch the sunset at the end of the day.
The staff were excellent at Customer Service and Raphael not only welcomed us positively but was also friendly and spoke good English. His staff were also attentive and approachable.
The kitchen can be seen from inside the restaurant, and Chefs can be seen preparing the orders and cooking the meals. The kitchen was well run, efficient and the food was fresh, well cooked and nicely presented and reasonably priced. We had a meal with alcohol, pudding and a coffee each for around £65 for both of us and thought it was good value given the location.
Definitely well worth a visit..... and we look forward to returning.

If you are looking for a place to have a "special dinner" (birthday, romantic etc), that's the restaurant in Houlgate you want. The food is very good, midway between traditional and sophisticated French cuisine. Service is great. Little hint: get the Paris Brest for dessert, it's exquisite.

Came for a takeaway pizza to eat on the beach.
Ordered a vegetarian. Told us 15 minute wait which is okay. So we want to check a nearby shop. Came back out pizza was already in the box. We checked it just to be sure and found it burnt all around the sides
Asked for another to be made.
At the end very tasty pizza.

What a feast. Salade Gourmande, foie gras, smoked salmon, gambas, then duck a l,orange, followed by croustillon de Camembert ,finished with passion fruit bavarois.
All top quality and we were well and truly stuffed. A feast for 28 euros per person. Try and beat this quality for that price. P s there were other choices on the menu.........if you could get a table. Packed restaurant ,excellent ambiance

When we found this restaurant more or less by accident we became a bit supersticious..... this certainly is not a place you should find by accident. One is meant to find it.
One should drive there purposely to experience the great location, the friendly welcome, the lively athmosphere, the interesting decorations, but most of all to enjoy the delicious food.
Different possibilities to combine two or three courses to your liking for a good-value-for-money price.
p.s. The nice white quality table linen and serviettes also deserves to be mentioned.

Cuisine créative et raffinée, service décontracté mais professionnel, pour un repas entre amis ou pour un tête à tête romantique.Nous seront là pour vous accueillir avec le sourire.
Beautiful room. Fantastic food. Everything we ate. Magnificent M. Courbeur Whisky as Aperitif. Decided for 2 first courses- a Gaspacho and a squid based plate. Marvelous. Only problem was the service, or its attitude or both. Left me with an uneasy feeling that we decided to leave without the anticipated digestif and coffee. I shall not return, neither recommend .

It was already crowded when we arrived at 1245, having spooted the menu du jour at 12.50 €. Just the sort of no nonsense - good value place we love, even down to the re-and- white check tablecloth.
What did we get ? A plain but goodbuffet starter followed by a salade de gesiers (warm chicken gizzards) with tomatoes andgreen salad; VERY generous helpings and washed down with an acceptable 1/2 L of red wine, all part of the price. If any residual hunger had remained, we could have gone on to dessert but we did have a good espresso each for a further 2.40€.
Added to all this excellent value, the staff were charming and helpful.
I repeat: I love this sort of place.

Visited here yesterday with husband, 2 children (11 & 14) and foreign-food-hating mother-in-law! Very friendly welcome as first ones in the restaurant. Chicken and chips a handy option for the less adventurous. Chicken was very well cooked and a huge portion ! Chicken in Normandy sauce also nice. Husband had one of the special scallop meals which he enjoyed. House rose very nice. Desserts a little disappointing but nice enough. Service was great and head waiter spoke perfect English. We would definitely return.

"LES HALLES" is more than a restaurant, it is a place where to meet friends and to have a good time around delicious meal. The menu, which is certainly not static, alternates dishes using early seasonal products with meat dishes cooked. The restaurant gives you a varied choice of dishes and menus for a selection of fish, seafood and meat dishes with elegance and simplicity3 menus "à l'ardoise" each day changing : from 15,90 € à 32,90€.
We thoroughly enjoyed an evening meal here with our kids (12 and 14). The staff are professional and attentive and the food is top notch. I had delicious oysters to start, followed by a pork medallion with pancetta (accurately described by our splendidly moustached waiter as "pig"), and the rum baba to finish was also very nice. The rest of the family enjoyed their food too. The wine list is extensive and pretty reasonable. Three of us ordered a la carte, with one prix fixée meal. With a bottle of Viognier and other drinks the bill was around €150 which seemed good value for a very good meal.

Having read previous reviews we hadn't planned on dining here, but it was only once we were seated I realised exactly where we were! It was a Sunday and extremely busy, we dined off the 18.50€ menu. I had the avocado/smoked salmon gratin followed by the skate, both were delicious and nicely presented, although my rice could have been hotter. My husband had moules to start (a huge portion) followed by the beef. Beef can always be a bit of a risk unless it is a very good steak, so he wasn't really surprised that it wasn't that great. Our desserts were very good and with a beer, glass of red and white wines, the bill was pretty reasonable. The prices in France haven't really increased, it's just that our exchange rate has sunk badly following 'brexit'. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, found the staff perfectly pleasant and helpful, (our French isn't good, but we try), and would visit again.
